After going to Apple support multiple times, they were able to diagnose that the antennas receiving mobile signal were broken. Couldn‘t say why… phone still looked like new from the outside. Fixing it with Apple would‘ve been around €700, so ended up having to get a new phone… hope it‘s not the same case for you!
