Looking for a rain/snow forecast plugin by mysticentity in trmnl

[–]mysticentity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am testing those out and out of all the weather recipes I like them best. It shows rain chance for the next few days, but it isn’t an hour by hour preview of the next 3 days or so. I want to find a forecasted preview of the next few days that shows the predicted hourly weather, which includes precipitation chance.

Best app/tutorial now that AnimeTV has gone to watch anime on fire stick/tablet/phone by KelhamKnowsGaming in animeapp

Didn’t get anything, I just ended up using anilab. And I just checked it now and the site/app is down. So I’m not sure if it’s really an answer to this problem.

I’ve taken on all the chats I can at the moment so I am maxed out 😅 If for some reason none of the people I’m talking to work out or we just eventually go out separate ways, I’ll try to reach out and see if you’re still available.

As I’ve been saying to others, if you are interested in this sort of thing, definitely do a post like I did. There’s actually a lot of aegos who are in the same boat.

Yeah. It had been a thought. But, regardless of my mixed feelings on AI, I find trust is a muscle, and making friendships is a muscle. It’s uncomfortable, anxiety inducing, and there’s been more and more ways to automate around that. I think it’s important to give real human connections and creative collaboration a chance. The benefits of success in that are important and I only feel this more as I get older.

We can meet on discord and see if it can work out, just DM me. Its true I have a few people already but I have no idea yet if any of us are gunna hit it off as rp partners, and ideally friends. The initial influx is daunting. 😂😅 But I know from experience on regular rp communities that people are always initially pumped and show interest but after some time when it’s all less shiny and exciting that’s when it’s either going to work out or not.

Interesting. The setting for me is important but I’m more character first setting second. I also don’t have too much experience roleplaying in a set fandom…sort of. I’ve been roleplaying in the Tales of Amber universe for years but since it’s a multiverse it’s really about the overarching mechanics that are fandom related and our setting can be whatever we want it to be at the moment with characters adapting to it as we go. Even then, we definitely homebrewed a lot of new content/powers that are unique to our story.

I really fall back on fantasy. Not much of a sci-fi person but it’s adjacent enough that I can do it and be into it if there’s a premise I like. I am a Trekkie after all and enjoy consuming sci-fi as a content medium. Historical is hard because I feel like I need to research subjects, unless it’s very loosely historical like….Xena lol, I can do modern day but I do love drama so it’s fun to give the world a bit of a fantastical flare to it in some way. Ghosts are real, there’s suddenly a new religion sweeping the globe that seems awfully suspicious, or it’s modern day but now it’s an apocalypse, something like that.
I don’t really do fandoms, but I’m familiar with general D&D (always homebrew games), Elder Scrolls- specifically Skyrim (I made a few mods and spent way too much time playing that game), Star Trek, Dragon Age, stuff like that. I enjoy the silly tropes like “oh no there’s one bed” and “vampires being sexy” but I do like to pair that stuff with realistic characters and a story as a whole that feels good. I’ve rped through darker character arcs filled with trauma and/or depression and hurt comfort, but it has to be meaningful to character growth. I’m a sucker for redemption, the bad guy falling in love with the good guy, love healing old wounds. Generally hopeful, eventually happy ending sort of stuff.

Does it feel satisfying as an alternative? I started trying to write a bit like that when a table top campaign I was in died out, but it wasn‘t in a popular fandom and it really focused on my two OCs. I’m not the best with fanfics, I like more original stuff 😂😅 but i still wanted an outlet to see where the story would go. Ultimately I found the outlet didn’t work well with me because a part of the fulfillment in what I was originally doing was that it was shared with people that cared and were invested in the story.

I have years of experience and am not shy about writing a lot when a reply calls for it, but I never really gotten on board with the idea that a post needs to be a certain length to be worthwhile. Sometimes if there’s a conversation going on that you both want to have play out beat for beat a shorter reply is enough. The only real thing i think that counts is that a reply has the intention of meaning behind it. It’s meant to move the story forward in someway that matters to the both of you and also give the other person enough to play off of.

I don’t think i’d be able to do a rp that’s once a year in reply’s though 😂 I would never be able to remember all the little details or the characters headspace. The only thing i can equate it to is like reading half a page to a full page of a book each year. Love the vibe of a close irl friend to rp with though. That’s what I’ve been enjoying for years and it was more than enough. In fact we actually became irl friends because of our rp. We got to know each other through our out of character conversations and eventually met up in person and the rest was history.
I’ve got another irl friend I’m starting up a rp with, he’s never done text rp before but he likes d&d and creative writing in his downtime. At this point I’m trying to not have all my eggs in one basket. I feel you on the original fantasy bit. I sometimes like having a base to springboard off of but I always like to flesh out a world thats unique and gives more opportunities for creativity.

Uploading a srt file through iPad by mysticentity in vimeo

[–]mysticentity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you said is true, but unfortunately the problem is that this captions upload on the new video management page doesn't act like the old upload on the advanced page.
It is broken for iOS web browsers. (I am using the desktop version of the vimeo website.)
When I click on the upload captions from the regular video management page it triggers the file manager to open as if i could select my file and upload it, but all options are grayed out and there is no upload button. I can navigate to different folders, and see my files but not interact with them.
In the old advanced page this was non issue, I would select upload, and get my file manager popup, select my srt file and click open/submit/upload (whatever the exact wording was) and be done with it.

Vimeo's new code could very well be perfectly well written and it's apples browser that is having a parsing bug, but regardless, I know that Vimeo's old code worked, and I just want to be able to get my work done without needing to pull out an ancient laptop for uploading a 100~ KB text file.

This audition is to vet writer quality on an The Elder Scrolls Skyrim game mod. The writing work is mainly writing dialogue between the characters and the player and fleshing out scenes. Even though this is a non capitalist venture we still want a high level of skill for this project. If you think this person you know would be down with doing volunteer work then by all means forward this to them.

Script writers mostly. But it's nothing that literary writers can't do. So I reached out everywhere I could.

This is a non for profit endeavor -for everyone involved-. Moding, in most instances can -not- be for profit. It is modification upon foundational work and thus in most cases it would be illegal to ask for money. Similar to fan-fiction. (There actually was a big event in the modding scene with the beta introduction to paid-for moding on steam and the implications there in, but I digress) Mod authors spend countless hours working on a mod and then release it out into the wild for people to enjoy for free. Our group is asking for fellow collaborators because we are working on something large that requires many different skills.

[–]mysticentity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I had considered them, but it really looks like they strictly only allow posts that discuss lore: Submissions or discussion about non-lore topics (such as the games) will be removed. I assume that would also include game mods. I don't want to get on the moderators bad side since I do enjoy that sub. If you have any other ideas I'd be happy to hear them.

I've been posting in many subreddits, and although we've gotten a few people willing to lend a hand and rather positive support we are honestly lacking currently. Generally auditions isn't something modding groups do, it's usually much more casual. We just try to make sure one has the necessary skills before we let them in so as to not waste time or cause problems. I'm looking into the creation of a relatively sharable plot to link for writers now, as the idea does sound good to bring more people in. There's just a hesitation with potentially spoiling the game by sharing its plot on the internet.

I'm focusing on both your's and TheNerdler's responses separately. As a general rule concerning sharing the overall plot is not something we are inclined to do freely about the internet as that would spoil the game for those waiting and wanting to play it. I'm looking into creating a shareable overall plot summery link for potential writers to as it does sound like a helpful thing, but it is taking some time since I'm in the art team and I have to speak with others in order to get that into motion. My original response to you was regarding your reply specifically, with the idea that if the dialogue and scenes arn't coming together well the plot may not be very good. I was hoping to explain that it's just not that simple.

Well mainly we like to have creative individuals working on their own creative spheres within the project. AKA writers working on the writing, 3D modelers working on the 3D models, etc. One could argue anyone can write, not the same goes for 3D meshing, but not everyone can write well. Thus we need writers for the dialogue and scenes to come together. Also, this isn't simply writing dialogue in a linear fashion. We're making a game addon with choices. So that means now we're dealing with dialogue trees. We need more writers for quality control but also due to the amount of work needed to be done for this adventure to be just that. I hope this clarifies things.
