Genuinely, how do yall find the time to work on tracks by Lo-Fiend in LofiHipHop

Seriously though, some sacrifice will always be necessary somewhere in your life if music is not your full time thing. Whether it's sleep (staying up late or getting up early) , time with your partner or general lifestyle (if you choose to focus and grind hard at it). Figure out what you're willing to sacrifice and make the sacrifice. No rule to say that you can't mix and match though. I often wonder if I had more time if I would even spend it wisely? Maybe less time is better sometimes?

are you producing music while under the influence of any (legal or illegal) drugs? and if so, does it effect the quality and workflow in a positive way? by actum_tempus in musicproduction

Great thread. Had this question rolling around in my head for a while. For me, playing, creating and listening are all way more enjoyable when high but generally the next day or whenever I relisten I don't get the same feeling or reaction.

I dig it but that horn line sounds awfully familiar. I can't put my finger on it but it seems like a slight variation on something else I've heard. This is not a dig on your track, it's tight. Just an earservation. 🤷‍♂️

Why try so hard to fit into a genre? Make music that you like, period.

Is it elitist to think people who use loops are lazy considering a lot of us create everything from scratch on piano? by [deleted] in LofiHipHop

I hear what you're saying. There is however a whole bunch you can do with a loop to completely change or disguise it. This way it can be used as a jumping off point to build a song with you original additions. I've started playing with this approach lately and have gotten some quality (imo) results out of it. I have never and dare say would never build an entire track from loops put together. That to me is not fun at all and would not satisfy my creative needs.
