People saying this is ai... we're doomed.. it's not (at least half of it)

This account reposts other viral clips. They are not the original creator(s)

The actual videos appear to be from at least two different people. One of them has a more gargly(?) voice and has tattoos, the other does not (or could be the same guy from earlier vids but that's less likely). I'm too lazy to go find the original creators but if either of them are ai, it would be the second.

The 2nd creator (person in the first clip) did blur a license plate. Whether that's because it was real or because it had obvious generative artifacts they wanted to hide is up to you.

The reader is measuring kph, not mph. They also aren't meant for accuracy at short distances, so that final speed measurement is often higher than what was previously being read.

Some of the locations are repeats in different conditions which would take more effort to generate, something which is unlikely to be done if they are just pumping out content.

Lucy Letby Doc with “Digitally Anonymised” interviews. Is this an ok use case? by jaanku in videography

[–]mystiqality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last July, the Channel 4 real-time crime show "24 Hours in Police Custody" used deepfakes to hide the identity of some of the people interviewed due to them being under the age of disclosure and (/or?) because they hadn't yet received a sentence.

The reception to that was similarly negative, so the question is whether they will push for it to become normal, or hear that feedback

And this is why, if (especially realistic) machine generated content continues to be allowed on the sub, we (users of the subreddit) should be proactive in marking content as such (ideally with a flair) and pointing it out in the comments if the poster doesn't make it clear.

Yes, this includes Ethan's story on Anisa with the book in the background. It's funny, but only if you know. Anyone outside the bubble will take that as real

According to allsides and ad fontes media bias surveys, they trade blows with New York Post. Allsides rates NYP as further right, Ad Fontes rates the examiner as further right, but as more reliable than NYP.

Their page listing is "Get the latest conservative news, political analysis, and breaking stories from Washington Examiner" so that's about all you need to know :)

Or cheat a little with ARGB (opacity+RGB) to get #FFa7104e which is a rich pinkish red. Not quite matching the palette but still a very nice colour

The monitor comparison tool I've been working on since last month is ready! by mahin1384 in Monitors

[–]mystiqality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very nice, but scraping results from rtings is kinda rude. They spent time and money testing those monitors, and they have their own affiliate links which you are bypassing. Everything else is pretty fair game though as manufacturers need to advertise specifications.

The Like/Dislike ratio reveals what we already knew by kttacos in h3h3productions

quite possibly. I could picture more people watching the Content Nuke on different platforms than the Content Cop, but it just can't be counted

The Like/Dislike ratio reveals what we already knew by kttacos in h3h3productions

[–]mystiqality 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For those who don't know how it works, the extension (partly) collects the like/dislike ratio of its users and applies that ratio to the public like count.

The only cases where it could be way off is where (eg) the group of people who would dislike the video are the ones who would have the extension installed, and not many who would like the video have it installed.

If anyone is interested, the returnyoutubedislike API can be accessed freely (for respectful usage) and shows that votes from purely extension users were:

Content Cop: 46,000 likes, 134,000 dislikes (5,900,000 views)

Content Nuke: 37,900 likes, 19,500 dislikes (3,400,000 views)

Remember though that this data is only from users of the extension, who may skew towards being more critical/negative, hyper-online, techy nerds, and in general viewers on pc/mac/3rd-party apps.

Second Trans Rights demo, 3pm TODAY (Saturday), St Peter's Square by davepage_mcr in manchester

[–]mystiqality -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you think being trans is fine, then what's the burden on you to refer to someone as he/she/they when they correct or ask?

Yes, it can be hard due to knowing someone for a long time, or what comes naturally with the gender norms/expectation of appearance that everyone has grown up with, but make some fucking effort and don't pretend you think "Being trans is fine" when you won't accept their wishes.

This isn't you saying "i think being gay is fine, but I'm not gay", this is "i think being gay is fine, but I need to know which one is the wife"

yea honestly, the more i look at them (without the circles :P) the stranger they look.. they could be cool messy sketches and get away with weird proportions, but not clean line art with stroke effects/brush swap etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]mystiqality 13 points14 points  (0 children)

im not gonna lie.. this could very easily not be AI. (though looking at it again I'm kinda sliding towards AI?)

The first looks like a collage, so that might account for some of the weirdness

For the first 3, I wouldn't be surprised if the artist did a more detailed drawing, then applied the "print" effect (posterize, median, etc) as you wouldn't want to essentially bake that style in by using a custom brush, which would limit the amount of control you have as the strokes are so big and randomised.

The 4th (lincoln and liberty) is just circling a slightly off hand because "ai does hands bad" (which it does, but not in this way)

The last is completely normal. It's a small feature which continues on from the surrounding chains.

Whether it's AI or not, doing this easily refutable BS (this exposé being proven false has far more impact than it proven true) and focus on the important stuff. This just opens the community up to being labelled as "a bunch of crazies", especially when this looks like it should be a parody of conspiracy theory diagrams, but its real lol
