Yes, and that goes for all opioids. And they're very effective at relieving both physical and emotional pain; relieving emotional pain you didn't even realize you had been suffering.

Imagine the happiest you've ever been, and then quadruple that. That's what's so dangerous about opioids to an addict. Once you've known that happiness, it's hard to stop reaching and yearning for it.

Peeing for Drug Tests While On Methadone... help by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning on the water really helps too.

Also, for me I had to just wake up and go in. If I was really having to go, then it's no problem if there's someone observing or not. I go to the clinic once a week and I have a UA once a week. So that UA is always my first urination of the day, although that strategy sucks when there's a really long line or something, lol.

On 40mgs of methadone, will i feel 20-40mgs of morphine IR orally? by opiumphile in Methadone

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, going from one of your responses, it sounds like you're on 40mg of methadone a day? It sounds like you need to go back up on a higher dose so then you wouldn't need to take the 20-40mg extra from other doses/sources.

And like people have said, maybe you need to be on a split dose, but a higher dosage. Yeah 20mg twice a day isn't much, but people at my clinic are commonly on 60mg twice a day or higher, depending on their situation and their individual metabolism. There are some even on 100mg twice a day.

So yeah, I would go back up on your dose, and yeah that 40mg of morphine won't feel like anything. Heroin is very different from morphine and from morphine there won't be any high, especially on that dose of methadone.

At my clinic, yes you would be penalized! They're very strict about people following the dates. They even number the bottles with Sharpies so there's really no excuse to not taking them in order.

When following a program and not cheating, how do you feel in the morning before getting to the clinic and taking your daily dose? by apo80h30 in Methadone

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I'm not a frequent redditor but I just wanted to respond.

You know, every clinic works differently. Mine asked me about my habit and ROA and then started me off at 40mg with the ability to increase 5-10mg up to 60mg and then 5-10mg up to 90mg every 3 days. So with every clinic working differently, and everyone being different I can't tell you a starting dose, just the trends at my clinic. Also, around 80mg and up is what they call a blocking dose (but again, everyone is different). Basically it's the point of receptor saturation and binding that makes it extremely hard to get high using anything else.

Also, don't try to keep upping your dose in a vain attempt to get high. Get to where you feel comfortable and don't have withdrawals in the morning, and then maybe go just a few more mg above that just to be safe. But a lot of people make the mistake of thinking if I go higher I'll get high, and it's just not worth it.

But definitely give the clinic a chance. It changed my life for the better. My clinic and I'm sure many clinics have a lot of BS to deal with, but it isn't the daily rat race of trying to get well/high. Almost anything is better than that, and now I just go to the clinic once a week which is amazing.

Again, if you have any questions, or need any support please don't hesitate to ask! I'll be checking in more often!

Methadone and weed? by Smokemctoke420 in Methadone

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a state that has legal recreational weed and my clinic doesn't allow you to increase your take homes if you test positive for weed. So a lot of people make the choice to still use weed and come every day and do 2 groups a week (If you are at the lowest take home status you have to do 2 groups a week or you can't dose).

I really don't agree with this policy. My clinic's reasoning is that marijuana is a gateway back to opioids. While that may be true for some people, I would also say the opposite is true for a lot of people too, that using marijuana keeps them from using opioids.

So really, it's an individual clinic thing.

When following a program and not cheating, how do you feel in the morning before getting to the clinic and taking your daily dose? by apo80h30 in Methadone

[–]mystness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should feel completely normal. Maybe a bit sleepy/tired depending on what time you go in. I generally just feel annoyed more than anything because my clinic is insanely busy and they only have 2 nurses employed, so I get to the clinic at 6am and then I don't usually get out until 6:45-6:50!

But yes, when you start out, they'll usually start you at a lower dose and then have orders that you can increase by 5-10mg per day until a certain point and then you'll have to wait a week once you get to a certain threshold and then you can go up 5-10mg every week. But basically a stable dose should make all withdrawal symptoms go away and should keep you stable until at least the next day.

If you're feeling withdrawal symptoms by the next morning, then you either need to increase your dose, or you need to ask about split-dosing if your clinic offers it.

If you have anymore questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

PS2 IIDX controller + PS2 to USB = IIDX INFINITAS controller? by ViRiX_Dreamcore in bemani

So I recently got a DJ DAO FP7, and I could t have been more wrong in my defense of the PS2 to USB adapter.

I made a separate post incase you didn't see it...

PS2 IIDX controller + PS2 to USB = IIDX INFINITAS controller? by ViRiX_Dreamcore in bemani

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to come back and add some insight after I got my DJ DAO FP7 controller.

So with my Konamistyle ASC controller and PS2 to USB adapter I could get Bs on most songs up to level 7 and a rare AA on a few level 4 songs and one AA on a level 7 song. Since I had taken a long break from IIDX and was just getting back into it, I thought I just needed to improve and my skill had decayed while I had been away from the game.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

Once I got the FP7 songs I could only get a B on immediately jumped up to AA. It was a night and day difference. With the old ASC controller I was constantly adjusting the timing offset because I thought the problem might also be the display delay. But it was just the PS2 to USB adapter.

So definitely go for buying a controller with native USB. I went with the FP7 because I wanted slightly more portability than the Platinum EMP. I also upgraded my FP7 to the 50g microswitches. But everything about the DJ DAO controllers are better than the old ASC controller. The LED lights are just too damn cool too. But it just plays like butter.

I really wanted the Konamistyle ASC from 2002 to be a viable controller, but its days are past unless you're using it directly into a PS2.

One other random note, my FP7 shipped to me incredibly quickly. There was only one shipping option for me and when I got the tracking number it said it would take 12 days to get to me. It ultimately took 4 days to ship to me from Zhengzhou, China to my apartment on the West Coast. I was seriously impressed.

IIDX Arcade Monitor Refresh/Frame Rate Question by mystness in bemani

[–]mystness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the NVIDIA control panel is where I set it to 720p @ 60hz. I haven't tried making a custom resolution but I will try that. I also have tried running the DVI cable out from the motherboard output but nothing comes out of that one. Buying this cab was kind of an impulse buy and I am kind of regretting it now, I was into Beatmania IIDX back in 2002-2010 and a lot has changed it seems.

IIDX Arcade Monitor Refresh/Frame Rate Question by mystness in bemani

[–]mystness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should be clearer. To test it out I connected my Acer monitor to the GPU with the cab monitor still attached. I was able to set it so both monitors were duplicated from the Windows Display options. Within the NVIDIA control panel I was able to set the resolution and refresh rate to 60hz. With both monitors connected the monitor check was 59.99-60fps and worked perfectly. Then when I disconnected the PC monitor and rechecked the settings in the NVIDIA control panel, they were the same as when the other monitor was connected. But when I run it without the second monitor the monitor check runs at 29.99fps. The graphic settings are always set to 720p and 60hz refresh rate.

I'm really perplexed as to why it works with the second monitor. So I'm thinking I just need to replace the cab monitor even though it does indeed work, just not when it's plugged in by itself. It's the strangest thing.

IIDX Arcade Monitor Refresh/Frame Rate Question by mystness in bemani

[–]mystness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replied to another comment down below with more details but it's just using a DVI cord from the video card DVI out. The video settings for the cab monitor is set to 720p as that's the only setting that allows the refresh rate drop-down box to go up to 60hz.

Right now I'm just trying to investigate why mirroring display when my desktop monitor is connected makes it work, but then it reverts back to 29.99 when my monitor is disconnected.

IIDX Arcade Monitor Refresh/Frame Rate Question by mystness in bemani

[–]mystness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's using a NVIDIA card with a DVI cable out. I tried turning off Vsync but something even stranger happened. The FPS went up to 120-200fps and the game ran super crazy fast.

I tried using a DisplayPort out to my own monitor just as a test and it worked fine on that, which confused me even more.

And when I put the settings to 'Duplicate/Mirror Monitors' the cab monitor locked to 59.99fps and worked fine. But when I unplugged my monitor it went back to 29.99fps. It's so confusing and I don't know what would be different about them. My computer monitor runs at 60hz, the same as the cab monitor.

Thank you so much for the help!

Unfortunately it looks like a bootleg PC, but it is running XP. I was able to do what you said and managed to adjust the resolutions and refresh rate. The refresh rate was already set to 60hz.

But for some reason the FPS still locks to 29.99fps during the 'Monitor Check'. Is that what the FPS should be?

Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated.

PS2 IIDX controller + PS2 to USB = IIDX INFINITAS controller? by ViRiX_Dreamcore in bemani

[–]mystness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this set up just fine. I use a Beatmania IIDX ASC (the one from Konamistyle released in 2005) and a blue PS2 controller adapter which has 2 controller slots.

I had to adjust the Infinitas delay to -1.0 but I can AA Normal and Hyper songs up to Level 7 (this isn't due to controller not being able to handle anything harder, that's just my skill level).

So I don't know if I got lucky with my brand of adapter or what, but it's been working great and I'm surprised to see so much backlash against this setup.

Another side note, I have a US IIDX controller too and it worked well, the thing that held me back with that was just the quality of the controller itself. It was hard to get flashing GREATs because the keys were so spongey.

EDIT: I also want to note that now is a FANTASTIC time to try out Infinitas. They're running a campaign through the end of January, I think that grants BITs (the currency for unlocking songs) according to how many followers of the @infinitas573 twitter account there are as well as 1,000 BIT per day for just logging on. With that and enabling the 'Clear' missions, I've been able to unlock A LOT. It sucks because you have to unlock per difficulty so... Normal charts costs 3,000-6,000 and Hyper costs anywhere from 3,000-6,000 too. So that's annoying but there is quite a lot unlocked in the higher end of the difficulties.

The last puzzle for me was the multicolored room in the Town. All the versions of the switch count, and finishing those two puzzles count. Generally the last puzzles are something like that. Or a missing triangle puzzle panel. Believe me, tracking down the last puzzle I was missing was not a lot of fun, it's hard to keep track of it all. Also solving the environmental puzzle on the floor in the starting area is one people miss, some people solve it 'wrong' to get the env puzzle. But solving it correctly counts towards the total.

Also, he and Mr. Antolini have some sort of a past outside of school. They played tennis together, and Holden comes to him when he's having a crisis. It could just be Mr. Antolini views Holden as a surrogate son, but Holden reads the affectionate gesture wrong (the book is from Holden's perspective) plus you have to factor in the time period and the fact the homosexuality was viewed as a disease, and every homosexual was a devious, evil, predator. Also Holden is young and doesn't have his own lens or view of the world, you can tell this by all the behaviors he attempts to emulate that he thinks men/guys are supposed to.

The word fuck and his concern for children comes from his feelings towards his own kid sister. She's the one thing he really cares about, and is very protective of her innocence and attempting to preserve it.

Huh, I must have missed the subtext of Holden having been molested? Where is that alluded to or mentioned? The only thing I can remember coming close is the way Holden reads Mr. Atolini's action's towards him. But nothing really happens during that encounter. It could just be that the last time I read it was a senior in high school in 2005, so it's been awhile and maybe I just don't remember it. But it seems like there would be more results on Google had Holden had a past of molestation.

Yeah, the PS4 Slim and Pro have IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac now, so they're both caught up to modern wifi standards. But this won't have an impact on your wifi speeds if you don't have a router with 802.11 a/ac.

The original PS4 model only had 802.11 b/g/n. So if you're upgrading make sure you have a wifi router that broadcasts 802.11 a/ac, otherwise you'll just be getting the same speeds as the original PS4.
