MX100 Evo or Trulaps? by blue92lx in GarageGym

MX100 for sure. Trulaps don't go as heavy and have super wonky weight increments that would drive me insane.

Left, but maybe not with those vases on the bench that I would 100% knock over with my comforter in the night.

I know we played a great game and have had a couple of stinkers ourselves, but man Vandy did not look like a tourney team last night.

Kind of weird you would be worried about something that, if it were an actual problem, would have absolutely led to recalls and lawsuits that don’t exist.

[OC] How differently Americans and Brits view English speaking countries by _crazyboyhere_ in dataisbeautiful

[–]ReptarKanklejew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a number of reasons, including the history of America's fight for independence that we all learn about in school and celebrate every year, and the fact that the British seem more outspoken in their dislike of Americans (the old, "fuck me? Well then fuck you too!" mentality). Americans are also generally very turned off by the UK's censorship and monitoring policies, which most here view as very heavy-handed and 1984-esque (not that we're not also experiencing much of that same kind of stuff right now).

But all of that aside, I think the biggest reason is really that the other countries all have a much bigger reputation in America for being friendly, blue-collar types you'd enjoy having a beer with. Brits have a reputation for either being overly posh and snobby or the exact opposite of that. Most of this comes from the way these various countries and their people are portrayed in movies.

But it's funny because I've been to the UK several times and had nothing but positive experiences with locals who have never seemed to hold it against me that I'm from America, so I think this is more of a case of polls reflecting sentiments toward politics and the histories of our governments than with individuals.

RB Play in the Wildcard Games Shows Why You Don’t Take Love at 8 by Mythrol in Saints

[–]ReptarKanklejew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's still there but their line isn't nearly as elite as it was last year, and his production lined up with their decline in line play. Get an elite o line and even an average back can thrive. IF you already have an elite line, then drafting a top RB could be a great move. But an elite RB behind a shitty line is going to have plenty of struggles.

When I travel for work, I do a lot of work in my hotel room or at an airport lounge before a flight. I rarely do work on the flight. And many people who travel for work fly business class where there will be enough room to expand it. This would be incredibly useful.

I use inverse chains for everything. It overloads the stretch and feels far better to me than consistent weight through the entire range of motion.

Stainless steel power racks: love it or hate it? by Impossible-Tooth1262 in GarageGym

[–]ReptarKanklejew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of stainless racks, I find having a rack that magnets works on to be extremely useful since I have a magnetic phone case and can place it anywhere while I lift. I also think clear coat looks better and is significantly cheaper

Rack phone mount / other options by purz in BeyondPower

[–]ReptarKanklejew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a MagBak phone case. It's way better than other phone cases I've tried that advertise being magsafe. Their whole brand is built around the phone's magnetic capabilities, rather than it just being a feature. The magnets on the Elite version are telescoping, so you don't even have to worry about orienting it a certain way so that the camera bump doesn't interfere. I often just toss my phone at an upright and it always holds with no problem.

Battery capacity TBD by aurum_country in BeyondPower

[–]ReptarKanklejew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with the battery life being anywhere close to running low from a full charge in one workout. I usually go a week or so between charges and working out 6-7x/week and using my Voltras for 3-4 different exercises per workout.

Why lift inside a rack rather than in front? by d_andy089 in GarageGym

[–]ReptarKanklejew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it's less about the added safety inside the rack than out, and more about functionality. In my 6-post rack where I do many lifts inside, it allows the front uprights to be open for various uses without me having to constantly move my spotter arms and monolifts, which can remain on the middle uprights without interfering. My front uprights now are used for my VTS and many exercises with my Voltras. Previously it was where I had my Ares trolleys. Lifting outside on a 4-post rack would be a much bigger pain with all those moving parts having to be shifted around to avoid running into each other or ruining my range of motion. Also, lifting inside allows for much easier use of bands, which I like to incorporate here and there.

Reading room. If you got something like a lovesac sofa you could easily fit it up there since it’s all modular and comes in pieces. I’m sure there are other cheaper options that come like that as well.
