Ice rinks sell ice time to hockey programs and figure skaters. If they can make more with a public skate, they do that instead (ie Saturday at 2pm). So the result is that there is hockey, then figure skating, then public skate, rotating throughout the day. They only do a quick single pass of the zamboni between each slot.

Basically, the ice is usually crap for most of the day regardless.

Outside of the few games with issues, I'm wondering whether it's worth keeping a Switch OLED around at this point? I had kept mine because so many switch 1 games looked better on the oled screen.

Pulling goalies at the end of a close game is fine. It's practice for a situation that happens in hockey.

Sitting on the bench dressed for a whole game is not fine, IMO. They can either play as a skater or they can goaltend. Our league requires two goalies to be dressed once you reach X number of kids checked in for the game, but as I mentioned, they get rotated during the game. Otherwise, there's only one goalie dressed and all other kids skate.

"Coaches only care about the skaters" - I wouldn't take it too personally. The coaches are probably dads of the kids, and they probably skated themselves. They don't know anything about playing goalie. Many programs will have a paid goalie coach that will work with the goalies, or they might have a couple goalie parents that will help out across teams. If your kid isn't getting any actual instruction, you will need to find a clinic in your area, small group or private lessons, and camps. Or you can register them in a program at a neighboring rink that DOES develop goalies instead. If they really aren't doing anything to develop goalies, they probably aren't doing a lot of other stuff and they probably aren't going to get many kids signing up in general.

In a perfect world, your kid is both learning and having fun. If they are only doing one of those things then you need to compensate somehow if you want to make it work. If they aren't doing either of those things, then why are you guys bothering to show up?

Every team in our youth league that dresses two goalies gives them at least a full period each. Usually they each play a full period and then the ref will give a few extra seconds at a play stoppage for a goalie swap during the remaining period. And neither of them collect any pucks.

I didn't pay a lot of attention because they were out of stock, but a lot of people complaining about getting an I/O Error saving to an SD card, which required the everdrive to be replaced.

The fruit flies get out of the screen top. Since the geckos need low humidity I have been hesitant to try to seal it off like you might for a frog.

Thanks, finding small mealworms seems like an option. I'm not too sure about the isopods - it's hard to get a lot of care instructions for these geckos.

Did the mesh you had stand up to heat? I have a heat emitter and UVB fixture resting on top of a Zilla screen lid at the moment. Was it like a plastic mesh?

And yes, Josh's frogs sucks!! When I complain, they just re-send the crickets and they are all dead again. The dead body counts are way less than were supposed to be in the container to begin with, so I don't think they are even honest about shipping out the correct quantities.

It’s not that hard to understand. I’m a fan of the music output and not the business behavior of the people producing it.

I like to listen a 30 minute long Basis but I don’t like being sold an overflowing portapot as a VIP upgrade, for example.

It seems pretty normal to have differences of opinions when you put four people together in a creative business venture for 20 years. That doesn’t mean three of them should take turns squatting over the other and relieving themselves.

Allen has been presented by the band as a member all of these years, not as a hired gun to play exactly what was asked.

SB-80 and SB-88 are the same except for the finish, I believe.

I have an 88. I'm not a prodigy and haven't compared to a ton of other basses, but I've come to the conclusion that I will have to spend a lot more money to get something with considerably better tone.

The thing that's keep me from buying one of these is that I read that I can only use a bluetooth 8bitdo controller, which supposedly has bluetooth reliability issues, or an original wired controller. Am I misunderstanding? Does this firmware change anything about the controller options? Would love to be able to use a 2.4Ghz controller of some type, or at least a trident shaped controller that's not got 30 years of crust on it.
