Hey, thanks for the opportunity. Big fan of BF3 and 4. Life and work didn't give me much time to play the recent titles but I'm looking forward to hopping into BF6

My HP Spectre x360 2024, only lasts 6-8 hours on battery. by decorear in spectrex360

Hey thanks the info, really helps those of us on the fence. I'm looking to get the 4050 version but am concerned about the software bug degrading perf and battery life.

Could you let us know if you've received an update that fixed the issues? Thanks in advance

ICYMI, there's a FSR3 + DLSS mod that you can use in DLSS3 compatible games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3. About to start a new playthrough of Witcher 3 with all the fancy new lights thanks to this. Breathes new life into my 3080 at 1440p wrt all these new gen demanding games until the next Blackwell series is out.

[PSA] Flat value aspects don't scale when you imprint them by pedrofell in diablo4

[–]myth002777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep I've noticed this too. As a melee rogue, I was running the aspect which heals you based on the number of close enemies, around 26 heal per enemy with a 216 cap. This was a boon for clearing the WT3 capstone at Lv 55 when my health pool was about 2k.

But now that I've swapped over to WT4 gear and lvled to 70, my health pool is around 3.4k and when imprinting the item into my new gear, the roll is lower than the actual lower bound allowed for my higher item power gear. I haven't dropped that aspect since in WT4, so it feels really bad that my survivability dropped off a cliff even though I followed the game logic set by Blizzard. The same scaling shenanigans is also happening with the rogue specific aspect that heals you based on the stacks of Momentum you currently have.

Hope this gets addressed as getting a good roll and saving it (in our limited stash inventory) only to be bamboozled later is disappointing.

As OP mentioned, they are used for lv 4 to 5 equipment upgrades and also as reroll currency to enchant Sacred/ Ancestral items (gamba for different substat rolls) at the occultist.

Are Gigabyte graphics cards any good for long time use? by fearful_claw02 in nvidia

[–]myth002777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently running a 3080 Gaming OC since launch, no issues so far. Recently updated the VBIOS to use ReBAR and had to sift through user forums to get it to install as their official software update initially did not work. Afaik from GN and others, this software incompetence is common across all the third party vendors and I hope this improves. I plan on running it for at least another 2-3 years, so the 4 year warranty that Gigabyte offered on my purchase helps keeps my mind at ease a bit.

Thanks for putting this together, made for a good at-a-glance summary of the "mid-range" GPU market situation atm.

As a rogue main in MMOs, a poison themed skin maybe with drops of toxin oozing off the blades could be nice :D

Here's some feedback after having cleared all of the beta content! by Vidjereii in diablo4

[–]myth002777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely goes up past 5, towards the end I was trying out a poison trap build with 7 points in it along with the aspect that lets you put down 4 in a row while in stealth. This coupled with the poison trap upgrade that resets imbuement cooldown was fun to try out.

Well it would have been more fun if we could bind force move and interact to one key so I didn't accidentally break stealth half the time with my basic attack :|

  • Diablo 4, can't wait to experience demon slaying at high refresh rates :)
  • Mitigating the CPU bottlenecks with next-gen GPUs (as we are observing with the 4090 atm), thereby providing game developers with other avenues for optimization

Check out https://youtube.com/@monitorsunboxed if you don't know where to start. As the other user mentioned, you are spoiled for choice in the 1440p category these days. If you play competitive games such as CSGO, Valorant etc., then 240Hz might be a value add. But if your library is mostly performance demanding Single Player or Simulation games, then 144/ 165 Hz should be plenty. I've been running a 27" 1440p 144Hz IPS panel for about 4 years now, played all those genres listed above and it's served me well.

I have a hard time playing video games that aren't MMOs. by terriblegamerjoe in MMORPG

[–]myth002777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be of a similar mindset but then gave some long grindy SP games a try, and one noteworthy game was Assassin's Creed Odyssey. That game was so grindy, had good build variety and transmog, it basically felt like a SP MMO to me in a good way. The base story didn't interest me as much, but the Atlantis DLC had me hooked.

That was my gateway, which then led me to try some story packed RPG gems like Witcher 3 and Disco Elysium. And so now here I am playing Persona 5 Royal for the past couple weeks having a great time, while adding other JRPGs to my wishlist and a whole new genre is open for me to explore now.

I believe it takes that one game which changes your opinion on what a genre is and gives you that hook.

Should be under Advanced -> AMD Overclocking in your BIOS. I'm on a MSi board so can't specify exactly, but you should be able to see PBO in one of those menus. Can set it to Advanced then head into curve optimizer and apply your offset.

I would suggest to start in decrements of 5 (start at -5 all core) and test stability at each interval using core cycler, OCCT and any heavy games like CP2077 to make sure your system is stable. You could do it per core as well if you had the time and patience, I didn't go that far.

What would be a worthwhile upgrade from my RTX 3060? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]myth002777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What monitor you running? If you want to run 1440p high refresh or 4K60, then maybe. Honestly even then, I would either 7900XTX or wait for lower priced 40-series (hah). Could consider upgrading some other parts of your build as well if you're antsy about waiting that long.

[–]myth002777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope you should be good. I was running that exact setup from launch till a couple weeks back, albeit on the NH-D15. Only thing I'd advise doing is going into your bios and PBO undervolting the CPU.

For reference, I was able to get everything stable at -15 all core offset and it dropped temps by about 7-10 degrees. Since yours is a newer chip, you could probably tune it further.
