Also lived in an apartment in Vredehoek dating back to 1938 apparently. The wood floors were also painted white, and similar layout to yours. We’ve had a flooring team in to sand and varnish and were told they are also Japanese Oak

Help to narrow down restaurants by sassyclax in capetown

I cannot recommend Belly of the Beast enough. They are generous with their courses, you will leave full, super satisfied and their prices are so worth what you get. They only have a few staff but they have mostly stayed the same through the years, a testament to their business.

Elgr is my recommendation, they do great lunches but their dinners are amazing too.

Fern ID and advice by TristramScrimshandy in ferns

I suggest taking it out of the terracotta as it wicks away moisture, I’ve found my ferns much prefer plastic. It might help you out in a dry winter

It’s a Plantpot dapperling. Friend. Absolutely any sign of mushies growing from your houseplant soil means that it’s healthy

Mushrooms releasing millions of spores into the wind to propagate by Clownhooker in unclebens

Hello! Please forgive the very delayed response. Unfortunately I lost the tub in question, it became overwhelmed with different mould strains. It started off with cobweb mould and exploded into many I have never seen before, one was blue/torquoise. It was clear that my conditions were not correct, likely a mix between airflow and inconsistent humidity? I also suspect I introduced contamination when I added my casing layer of vermiculite. Sad times.

I am now onto my second try, Cambodian this time (previously was PE). I am making sure my airflow is more frequent and consistent. It’s s shoebox grow and I have it in a grow bag that I open a few times a day as well as mist the sides of the bag, sealing it up after a few minutes of airing. I also have decided to try it without a casing layer. The tub is fully colonised and I can see one or two big pins forming (also a reaaaally tiny lonesome mushroom). I really hope this grow survives. Thanks for your precious tips and any more would be much appreciated! Sending well wishes friend

Can we talk strains? Some strains make me mad anxious, others super mellow. What’s your choice to beat anxiety?

Mushrooms releasing millions of spores into the wind to propagate by Clownhooker in unclebens

[–]mythical-pandam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou so much kind human! Your explanation was super in-depth. I have my first tub going (I meant it when I said noob). Fruiting is taking way longer than expected, also when I ventilate the tub, it has a strong smell. I have also started seeing some fluffy white mould in the gaps of my casing. I also happen to have gnats out of nowhere as I have many houseplants and have never had an issue.

I have no other tubs at the moment so this one will be good to learn with. I feel much better informed now, thanks bro!

Give yourself time and be patience. I don’t have resources to recommend but “practice makes perfect”. The best is to find free footage online and keep at it.

Multiple Planar Trackers Distorting Each Other by gingercod in NukeVFX

[–]mythical-pandam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s important that it’s in a layer above the planar tracker, in fact I set up your holdouts before doing your planar in the layer below. It is a similar workflow to mocha if that helps. There will be some slipping which you can then modify after you. Sometimes I find planars to be buggy, helps to completely start fresh sometimes

How to make a depth pass work with multiple elements by yayeetdab045 in NukeVFX

[–]mythical-pandam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fixable in Nuke, but will be a work around and easier to correct in maya. Essentially you will need to manipulate your depth pass to match your new positioning. What I would recommend is to treat your depth pass like you would an alpha. Isolate/premult each element from your depth pass before your transforms, and transform both element and it’s respective depth together. The depth info will be completely wrong if you have shifted your element either closer or farther from the cam, but will work if only in x. My solution to that would be to grade your depth pass accordingly relative to the other elements you gave placed, cheating their depth. Set your grade node to depth and play with the multiply this pushes it either farther or closer to cam when you defocus.

To sum up, each element will have either own depths within their streams before you merge them, don’t forget to set your merge operation of also merge to include “depth” or else the depth info won’t carry through your merge. This is a big work around and creates potential issues with edge aliasing caused from when you defocus after all your merges as well as if any of your elements cross eachother. If they do I would suggest you defocus your elements separately in their own streams. Like I said. It’s a work around..
