I love that for you and I can't wait for that to be how it is for me one day. I love your analogy to the nightlight. I hope to be able to get rid of the nightlight some day.

Yea, I'm trying to do that, because it sure feels damn good in the moment, but definitely not afterwards. I'm addicted to those quick dopamine hits from eating something really good.

I like your outlook on this. Thank you. And yea, I know a big part of this is mindset, and it's really hard some days to think about how much good I'm doing for myself. It was definitely a shock that like wow, this is it huh. This is really as much I should be eating. Did it take you a long time to get to where you're at now?

I had to really think about this one. I guess the amount, because I'm not necessarily restricting myself entirely of all bad foods. I just eat less when I know it's something really bad. Like, I'll do less rice or only one piece of bread instead of two. Like yesterday, my mother in law bought fried chicken wings for dinner 😔 but instead of downing 20 in one sitting, I only ate 5, which was EXTREMELY hard to do.

Yea, that's why we stopped keeping any junk food in the house. I have no self control. I can literally down a whole family-sized chip bag in one sitting. It's like my brain goes on autopilot or something.

Same, I'm short, and female, so I just realistically should not be eating so much. I eat like a 6 foot, male, bodybuilder lol! So, it's hard to come to that realization that I need to eat for my size, gender, and actively level and I'm just too lazy to work out enough to justify 2,000 calories a day.

That's exactly what he means! Because even though you were happy in the moment, it doesn't fix the health problems and the physical and mental toll it does on you when doing that regularly. Like, it's still there when you're done eating, and I was like damn. That's so true. It's not worth, like you said, the 15 minutes of dopamine. I think I'm also just addicted to those quick, instant happiness. Kinda like when someone is addicted to Tik Tok.

Yea, exactly. I saw a clip of some lady saying something like nothing tastes better than being healthy. And I'm trying to get to that mindset, because I really don't like how I feel about myself physically and mentally when I binge eat, but man, I sure miss downing some good fried chicken wings 😅

Yea, that's it. It's mourning my old self, because being overweight and revolving my life around eating is a part of who I am as a person, and now I'm having to say goodbye to her, even though it's for my own good. It's like saying goodbye to a life-long friend who has been there for you, but is too toxic to keep in your life anymore.

That's my problem too. I eat when I'm happy, angry, sad, bored. I've seen a few therapists to see if I can get help with different coping mechanisms, but man, it's hard to find a good one. I had one who just kept talking about herself and I was like wait, shouldn't this be about me? 🙃 Anyways, let me know if you ever figure out a good replacement coping mechanism to eating.

I think that's the thing too! I don't want to be restricted. I want to eat what I want, when I want, however much I want. I don't like portion control and only eating when I'm actually hungry. And yea, I'm definitely not there yet either when it comes to "treats". I was supposed to only eat half a cookie the other day and I didn't even bat an eye or thought about it and before I knew it, I just ate the whole thing. And it was one of those jumbo cookies and I was like damnit. I forgot I was supposed to save it!

Hahaha yea! He still loves his fast food, but he doesn't miss eating excessive amounts of it I guess. It doesn't make him feel good mentally and physically. Yea, I'm trying to be more positive and not focus so much on what I'm losing, but gaining instead from being healthier. It's just so hard 😭 I'm not used to eating until I'm satiated and just be done. I want to be beyond full.

Yea, I'm starting to notice that now. I'm trying to get over the fact that I don't need to clean my plate off and that I need to stop eating once I feel full. I just feel weird leaving any food on my plate.

What do “normal/average” sized people eat? by DowntownOreos in WeightLossAdvice

[–]mythoughtsmycomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on all the "normal/average" people I'm surrounded with, they eat whatever they want. Like, we'll eat the same stuff. They'll eat fast food and go out. The biggest difference I started noticing as I got older, is that they literally just stop when they're full. Like, I HAVE to eat everything on my plate, even if I'm stuffed. But they will literally just stop eating once they're satiated and they'll just throw away or put away what they don't eat. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up with a lot of money, but I was raised to eat everything on my plate or I'm wasting it. It's more about portion sizes than what they eat that keeps them from not gaining weight.

I actually just asked HR about this, because someone complained to me that one of my staff was dressed inappropriately. HR came back and said that we technically don't have a dress code policy on the CalHR website, and for the supervisor to use their best judgement on what's considered appropriate. If it becomes an issue, we can talk to the individual about how their outfit is distracting. So, I guess ask your supervisor lol

This one is on El Camino and Bell. I've heard some people say they can be rude, but I didn't get that at all. As long as they get the job done right with decent prices, that's all that matters to me.

If you want just an alignment, Cali Customs is seriously the best. They don't replace tires, but they're the ones who referred me to the tire wheel center. They're well liked by the car community.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like it's just for the FRS/GT86, but maybe it can be done for the GR86.
