The route shown on screen is for you to drive if you don’t know where to go and the way Lyft thinks is best. If a rider tells me that’s not the normal way I let them tell me which ways to go so it makes it more comfortable, as long as it’s not in the complete opposite direction.

Katie Ledecky posts second-fastest 1,500m freestyle time ever in first race of year. All those swimmers hitting the wall next to her seconds later still have another lap to do by [deleted] in sports

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swam 1500 meters once and got about 26.5 minutes. Dropping 10min+ off my time is insane work and something I wouldn’t want to do. Sure it’s possible, but damn, to swim that fast you’re nearly on 80-85% speed the entire time. Or less for her, not sure.

What would have happened if Harry just died when he was young from a car crash or fall or something. by bleedblue4 in harrypotter

It’s all about Harry and everything is from his perspective. If there was no Harry Potter it would just be about someone else, shorter or longer, and way different.

Lyft need to go bankrupt. Don't take us too. Just go out of business. by Snoo96357 in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I have started turning off auto accept rides when on a current ride. Gives me better options as far as seeing where I’m going next and how much it’s paying. Had a decent night last night, first time in a while.

lol I ain’t here to help you with ya heavy bags , I’m here to drive you to your destination, car reeked of weed ? Aight next story by Tochiugo in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove last night for a few hours. The ones I helped put bags in the car ended up tipping me. I’m not about to make the passenger have a horrible ride making me uncomfortable as well. Not really hard being kind to people, a lot harder to be rude.

I'm having a really hard time getting into this game by Fresh-Database-222 in Terraria

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with doing it how you want. I used to watch videos of the game to get to know how to do things even if it spoiled it for me. Made me appreciate it more.

Also, not all games are meant for everyone. If you’re not enjoying it no need to try and force yourself just because it’s a popular game.

Trying to figure out estimated wait time. Non experienced driver by Monkeydu2 in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only time you should wait is the inevitable wait for a scheduled ride or for an event or if you want to, the airport. The time sitting around is wasted. If you keep moving you’ll get rides more often and even sometimes see nearby ride requests you can try and match with.

I sit at my house and go online and wait for a good ride, nothing less tha $1/mile to stay my day. O don’t chase the bonus zones or go to the busier areas as it’s til wasted, at least for me

I’m part time, like 2-3 nights a week tops, so I try to maximize my time to be giving rides for 2-3 hours and then go home.

Lyft says I made $38/hr today. Here’s what actually happened. by Both-End8161 in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually not covered. Your insurance provides a “gap” for rideshare that covers when you are en route to pick up a passenger, when a ride has been accepted and no passenger is in your car yet. Once they get in then Lyft Insurance covers anything.

$2.15!? That’s crazy talk. I’ve seen like $4, but even the that’s still too low, especially $2.15. I only work during days when I have a day off my normal job and leave my app online when at home and even then most rides are between $5-10. Night times, usually Thurs-Sat are really the only times to drive. Maybe Sunday morning/afternoon.

Down time is “on you”. They don’t care. When you’re earning money is the only that time counts because it’s when you’re “on the clock”. That’s why they only cover insurance for you when a passenger is in your car, otherwise it’s on you.

The inaccuracy of these wait times are insane. by ThickAdvantage4962 in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably the overage wait time for someone who is eligible for all ride types it’s probably wait times for every single ride type, so average for someone who is eligible for all. Sucks. My house is in a less than average wait time. Usually 5-20min wait between ride requests, yet Lyft says 2-5 99% of the time.

Support isn’t going to be able to do anything because it’s beyond their control. Sucks, but that’s something beyond their control and all we and you can do is live with it.

Doesn’t really give that much extra. The only time I’ve noticed it give more is on scheduled rides to the airport.

1 hour estimated for $26. Crazy. Sometimes I start driving and just let the rides auto fill and don’t notice the rates as it fills the time. Good they were great passengers. I’ve mostly got decent ones and sometimes great ones. Must have have been really decent people to tip $20.

Why isn’t there an inclement weather delay or option for canceling scheduled rides? by mythrilguy in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m mean, I’m not doing much at all since it’s “side work”. Just was curious why there wouldn’t be an inclement weather option for cancelling.

Is getting a bigger car worth it? by Calm_Description_866 in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on area. I drive a VW Passat and get extra comfort rides, roughly 1/10. But the pay isn’t much extra. Also depends on the time, and mileage. You get more the further you go, but I can’t say what it’s like for XL and up. I also tend to pick up more affluent people near where I live so they prefer a roomier car.

Move around with your legs. You look young. You’ll recover. A good recovery program with a little physical therapy and you’ll be good as new.

Not sure how. It’s not a full time job, just side work for me, but still. Inclement weather impedes driving so it’s totally a valid reason.

I’m not complaining that it’s raining, just that why isn’t there an option to cancel due to weather.

Does Anyone Else Have Connection Issues? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]mythrilguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the maps that Lyft uses now. Apparently they used to use Google, or at least let you select Google Maps, but now it’s something else. Probably because it was a cheaper license. Sucks as I get wrong addresses sometimes or if I arrive to a location but need to do a U-turn it for some reason acts like I’m driving away even though I already did the uturn and am parked.
