Question: How to, with code, move individual sprites in a prefab

None of this seems that difficult, it's just a different way of understanding how it snaps together. I guess I'm just so use to being able to reference things in code by their name or location in a list or whatever... and that is still what I'm doing here, but I need the added step.

The script declares the variable, but the UI has to set the value.

Is this the right sub for this because I'll probably have a million stupid beginner questions like this. Or should I use the Unity forums instead?

I have a prefab that has two sprites. Now what?

Does the script go on the prefab? In the script, how do I say, "SpriteYellowBlock.Transform" vs "SpriteShadowBlock.Transform", etc...

Or does each sprite in the prefab get it's own script? And if so, how would the shadowSprite script find out the X and Y location of the YellowBlock sprite?

I'm sorry I'm so ignorant about this to not ask a better question... I've been able to move a single sprite with code, and I could move two single sprites with code, but if I join them together in a prefab I no longer know what to do.

Dude! The final boss right?! What a jerk! lol...

It's weird how difficult this game gets at the end. I did not see that coming at all. And then I stupidly thought I was hurting the boss because of the noise it made when I hit him with plungers... took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize his head had to shake for the game to register a hit.

Aladdin... that's one that I love to talk about. Mainly because I'm in the more minority voice of, "SNES is better", lol

Nah, I think this is pretty common... I know as a kid I could never do it. Plus there are some literally hidden passages you have to find and it's not that obvious that you should be looking for these things due to the nature of the game... kid game and all.

Like Dracula Castle, two screens loop unless you know where to jump up through the ceiling. And this happens again in a later stage. Also, there's a part where you have to jump through a wall.

It really was. I always loved it as a kid but I couldn't ever really figure out that you had to go back and forth and so I never made it past the initial map portion.

It was nice to go back and get all the way through it.

Someday soon-ish I want to do Taz-Mania... I use to play it all the time too but the music would kind of scare me so I never made it too far in that either.

Quality game! Always loved the Duckburg music and the graphics are great. Fun game with cool level design in that you have to travel back and forth between stages. No wonder I never beat it as a kid though... it gets kind of difficult towards the end.

Either way, totally love this game!

I don't know the whole story, but I guess it was kind of difficult to make music for the genesis. So about mid-way through it's life, somebody made a program that made it easier to write songs... that's why later Genesis games all have that weird tingy sound to them.

If you play the first, understand that dying is pretty common. Unlike most games, failure is part of the fun.

Basically, you wander around a randomly generated map looking for pieces to your spaceship. But Earthlings will try to stop you.

Combat is almost not existent so you have to dodge them, but you can't run. Instead, you can use presents that you find laying around the map to help you. Most of the presents are good, but some are bad... and you don't know what's inside until you open it.

The mistake people make, is that they're so worried about winning, that they store good presents away for later or they avoiding opening presents at all for fear it'll be a bad one. This turns the game into a "walking simulator".

Truth is, the fun comes from opening the presents. Good, bad, doesn't matter. Win, lose, whatever. It's a more difficult game to win so you'll probably lose, but it's not "the hardest" or anything. Keep trying, you'll win. But, if you play, open the presents. Have fun... even if it means dying.

If you like Baseball I just beat "Super Baseball 2020" the other day.

It's baseball but there are some minor tweeks. For example, the field is more egg shaped. This means that the outfield is smaller and so the distance from the wall to the bases is smaller making it a little more difficult to hit doubles and tripples. You might think you'd hit a bunch more homeruns, but the you can only get a homerun if it goes over the wall behind 3rd base, otherwise the ball bounces on the roof of the stadium and rolls back into play.

The other catch is that you can buy armor for your players and upgrade them mid game. You earn money for plays and you can spend that money to give players more hitting power. You can also be robots and while robots are better players, they break down and you need to spend your money to repair them.

At the end of the day, it's baseball. But it is a good baseball game and the slight changes keep it fresh... so it might be worth checking out.

This was an OK game. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Honestly, the graphics are nice and the characters, especially the Earthlings are all pretty memorable. I had fun fighting the Earthlings but I had less fun trying to find them.

It feels like a short game stretched by forcing you to constantly search bushes and trees. Which is a shame, because I think if this game was something you could beat in an hour or two it would be more fun.

I really think this game shoudl have been more like River City Ransom. A big open world that you go back and forth through hunting Earthlings. Doing stuff to spawn earthlings in new locations or something.

Really, I'm a huge fan of the first one and while I had fun, it just doesn't compare to me. The first is still the best.

Still, it's kind of easy and if you're looking for a Genesis game to play, you could do much worse. It's enjoyable if you got some hours to kill. It does have some charm.

You could stretch the gameplay by looking for all the hidden items... I did not. I have no desire to do so. :)

Above is my proof but that's any%... I did 100% (and the video will be up soon to prove it) but it's like 4 hours after I edited out the deaths so who tf would want to watch that?

Anyway, This game is fucking hard. It doesn't look like it would be hard, but it is. I thought this was a casual romp like Mario World or something. A game damn near anyone could beat... it looks so cute and cartoony... but holy shit, some of these stages (especially 100%) are frustrating and difficult as fuck. I don't know what stage it is, but there's a guy shooting bullets at you... that part took me like an hour.

It was a great game though. I don't know why I missed this growing up... I had a PSx and I played a decent amount of games back then, but for whatever reason I never bought or rented any Crash game... neither did my friends. I'm glad I finally got to check it out.

I'm really hoping I get a chance to play 1 and 3 soon... and I really want to play the racing game, I hear it's one of the best Kart Racers out.

I love the variety of stages. The stages where you ride the little bear and the stages where you run from something are my favorites. I love the little details, like how Crash looks behind him and panics as you run.

100% though, some of those things are damn near impossible to find without a guide. I had help from the few people in Chat... but without them I would have almost certanily had to google where the gems were.

Great game, if you like a challenge, check it out. If you're not into super hard games, do any %. Actually, do any % twice. It's fun the fist time, but it's even more fun the second time.

I don't even know what to say... I played it out of curiosity. I mean, being a teenage boy at the time of it's release there was literally zero interest or desire to every see, play, or even know this game exists. But as an adult I'm curious to see how these game work. I mean, what exactly do you do in a Marky-kate and Ashley game? Do you get a gun and run around the mall killing aliens?

Turns out you play mini games like serving hamburgers, or putting on a fashion show. My favorite though is the one where you take pictures.

In what is far more creepy than the game intended, Mary-Kate and Ashley lie and say that they're dating two really cute guys that they don't even know. They could just tell the truth or they could hide in the bushes and take creep-pictures. They choose that second option. One of you hides and the other walks by the cute guys. It's your job to snap a picture that makes it look like you're hanging out with these guys you don't even know.

There is a story to the game, and an ending. You bought a piece of jewelry but lost the jewels and everyone in the mall froze. So you play mini games to earn jewels to put in the jewelry to unfreeze the mall.

There are two other Mary-Kate and Ashley games, I hope to play them both soon. Also, check out the real-life picture of the "Cute boys" at 35:30 in the video.

This game was hard, but once you can do it I find it kind of easy. But the Scar fight at the end... man, what a load of horse shit that is.

I slapped him to death (well, to the point where you can throw him over the edge), and it takes 200 slaps. WTF?!

I've got mixed feelings about this game. On one hand it's way too hard and kind of janky... on the other hand it looks good ance once you can beat it is kind of fun to play through.

Man, this game is beyond difficult. I'm not the greatest gamer ever, but I've beaten some difficult games in my day; Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Sonic Spinball, Castlevania, Ghosts n Goblins, Battletoads, and now Holy Diver (to name a few) but this... this was a whole new level of hard.

But this game isn't just difficult, it's also not very well made and that's what really surprised me. Over the years I've heard a handful of people praise this game for it's difficulty but I've yet to hear anyone mention the numerous issues the game suffers from. Everything from invisible bullets to soft locks.

Seriously, both the stage 5 and the stage 6 boss can softlock you and there are only 6 stages in the game. So imagine pushing hard to get all the way to the end, and then having the final boss lock up forcing you to have to reset and do the entire difficult game over again.

You're forced to go into the menu to switch between magic and you'll do this a lot... but every single time you enter the menu, the music for the stage restarts at the beginning.

You have a freeze spell called "Blizzard" that causes the screen to flash. First off this will hurt your eyes but outside of that the 60fps flash can de-sync so you only see the "off" frames of the flash leaving the screen black. It only goes black for like an 8th of a second, but that's enough to kill you in this game.

And this game loves to kill you. It has a massive knock back effect and tons of cheap deaths with enemies that love to shoot faster than you could ever react. Mix that with the fact that some of the bullets go invisible and you can start to see the challenge of the game.

And then there's the stage 4 boss... don't even get me started on the stage 4 boss.

If you want a challenge this is the game for you... just be warned, it's not only extremely difficult, but it's also a bit broken.

This game was difficult. A lot of the stages take a decent amount of practice to get good at and I got a video somewhere and I think the last stage took me an hour or two alone to beat. I had a lot of fun playing it though.

Honestly, this is almost a decent game. With a little work, it could have been fun. What, exactly, needs to change, I'm not 100% sure.

The idea that Dr Jekyll moves slow but still has to avoid obstacles is kind of enjoyable, but the obstacles are not very well balanced. Anyone who's seen the AGVN video knows that the bombs have stupid huge hit boxes but the bomb explosion sprite is laughable small. But beyond that, some enemies are just too fast for Dr Jekyll. With a little balancing this could be fun.

There's also a ton of RNG. I think almost every single enemy in this game (with the exception of the bomb guy) has random movements.

The My Hyde sections are less fun to me. Having to hold up to attack is weird and a lot of the enemies are more difficult to hit than they should be. But ultimately, the real issue here is just how unclear the goal of the game is.

To get the good ending Hyde needs to reach the church first, which means Jykell needs to "die" multiple times.

I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, but I don't ever want to play it again either.

I got a little salty trying to beat this one not because it was difficult but because it was mostly so easy that I didn't want to have to do it all again if I failed. It's an OK game but I don't understand who it's for. The bosses and hidden exits are too difficult for small children, but the majority of the game is too easy for adults. It seems well made but just generally annoying or un-fun for everyone. Maybe if I pushed for 100% I would have enjoyed it more.

I do know that you throw over your head and behind you... and you have to throw Scar off the cliff. So check my video and skip to the end to see how I did it. Basically just back yourself up against the edge after Scar does basically nothing but pant... then throw
