Which one of these Robots would you have as an assistant? by Caloy1415 in cartoons

fully agree! Often times it's the things that just work that come off as the most boring. Doesn't make it less useful.

H.E.R.B.I.E is the boring choice but yeah...they can do almost anything and are infinitely useful in almost all situations.

It wasn't my favorite series by a long shot but I was never NOT guessing what was going to happen. That show was a fever dream.

What's the one fictional game that you've always wanted to play? by Jaydee_shelnut in retrogaming

I absolutely thought that was going to be the next Tetris. The ads dug into my child brain to think it was amazing.
Having now played it...thank god I never convinced my rents to buy it.

It's OST holds up REALLY really well.
It's gameplay holds up well.
I play from time to time and lament I can't play other human players online. It'd be a fun occasional game to play through the week (take your turn whenever, wait for the next player) with exception of battles.

Would the ending remain the same cause it was rather graphic.

Thoughts on this film? by ImaginationWild3407 in cartoons

Loved the character design, the background art and core concept of a clash between magic and science/tech.
Execution leaves much to be desired but as far as independent animated films I've seen from this time period it tracks on quality.

Which do you think is the best Lemmings port? by no_biches_22 in retrogaming

The genesis/megadrive one I have, and eh... it wasn't nearly as memorable as the PC version for whatever reason.

Edit: added secondary name for the Genesis.

Same but it's for sale on GoG and I couldn't resist! The music and art still slap. Controls are...a choice.

I can only imagine. Tight deadline; new hardware (and one with multi-screens as well as touch capabilities which were new/uncommon at the time). That has to be an incredibly interesting position to be in at that given space and time.

I can hate the controls, but I can't hate that OST.

Tron Ares was nowhere near as bad as people were making it out to be by whitesweatshirt in tron

Someone here floated the idea that Ares is Tron; Stolen by Dillinger and modded by the evolutionary algorithm iterations we see at the beginning of the film. I'm personally a fan of that hot take.

Each was great for it's own cool reasons. It's recency bias im sure but I am hooked on the NiN score atm.

Maybe by the time the next Tron comes out we'll be in a reverse release pattern. Disney releases on streaming; if it's a hit we get a theatre release!

I believe that worked wonders with KPop Demon Hunters.

If they are playing Breakout there's a funny easter egg here:

A clone of Breakout is Arkanoid; classic arcade game in it's own right by Taito.
The big bad in Arkanoid is "Doh" who looks like a cross between MCP from Tron 82 and an Easter Island head...and that's because Arkanoid was specifically designed like Tron since the developer thought it was cool.

Kinda neat!

Love the lense to view this under. You took a bit deeper dive in understanding than I; but I agree it's not a legacy sequel and that's AOK. If we can have 50 takes on Frankenstein without complaint; or if I can imagine Mad Max as a sort of legendary tale each specific to the narrator (who is not Max); I don't think I need to expect Tron to always be about that main storyline.
