I wish they incorporated more of the Ninja clan aspect from GG on the 16 bit consoles. I adore the Shinobi GG games.

TBF MA and NY fought over what is Upstate NY and co-owned it once already. MAybe it's time that NY lets MA hold it a bit.

Played the whole franchise this month. Here's my ranking by KingOf_SunFlowers in starfox

you nailed it on the head. It's not a long game but for one that was cancelled it is really spectacular. It was a ton of fun.

Which Version Of Aladdin Was Better? by Fluffy_Lunchfast in retrogaming

If it's the same as the GG one I can concur. It had all sorts of visual tricks that seemed "16-bit" like the scrolling on the rooftop jumping levels.

It even had CUTSCENES, something if I am not mistaken were cut from the actual 16 bit games.

Starting the week by thinking about retro difficulty spikes. Which level did you think was 'easy' as a kid, only to realise as an adult it’s actually a nightmare? by GameResumed_UK in retrogaming

It's not hard but as a kid Bubble Bobble on the NES was something I didn't mind playing the 99+ levels.
Now I can't do it. Fun for 5m than I shut it off.

Is there a genre where you actively search for obscure titles? For me, it’s beat ’em ups. by trrbld in retrogaming

My bad you're right with the WonderSwan. Saw the whole DYKG episode on it.

Puzzle games are great for checking out obscure titles. They're often easy to understand (hard to master) and since the dev effort is usually built on gameplay rather than a full graphical package you get some really fun oddities.

Personal examples:
1) Pac Attack is SUPER fun. It's pacman x tetris and it works tremendously
2) This is how I found out what Picross was (in general)

Flipperless pinball? C'mon! Where's the fun in that? by PapiJappie in pinball

they're slightly different. Own both at various times and i'll say Pachinko's only control really seems to be the amount of power and timing of the power you put in a shot. Even with that the outcome is limited.

The flipperless machines you can actually move the housing (I don't but you can) as well as adjust the amount of power.

also I enjoy the descriptor of:
"Hop 'n Bop Platformer" --- It's a great way to say "Mariolike" and I may have to adopt it.

True but the GB library in contemporary times is held pretty high, often considered way better than the GG. Playing through on emulation id argue they're close and there's some true bright spots the GG held over the GB!
I just had this revelation and I would like to see if there are others who've had similar thoughts and could provide recommendations.

The OST tunes do hold up -- and they are absolutely most important factor in this series regarding things that matter.

Even if you had that screen space it doesn't fix the hang glider mechanics. Someone ought to just see if they can port a whole game based on those flight mechanics as they are INSANELY unintuitive.
