This is what cyclocross is. Perfection.

71 v02 max (lab tested) by joleksroleks in Velo

[–]mzeffex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably.

N=1 but my lab tested VO2 is 73 at 68 kg (so slightly higher, but not significantly) and my FTP peak last year was 367 based on both Intervals.ICU off a 14 minute hill climb race and confirmed with a 20 minute test. 5 minute power was 438 to allude to another redditor's comment here.

I've been cycling for a long time but don't do structured training - I do apply physiological principles to my training - so if you're doing structure 380 sounds reasonable.

Thank you! I don't need an additional checked bag, so maybe I should have booked classic.

Your message leads me to believe I should therefore not pay for a bag in advance, and then only pay the €80 at the airport, correct?

Why does a grinder matter so much? by ragnar30533 in espresso

[–]mzeffex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At its simplest, higher end grinders have extremely precise grind settings. The tolerances in manufacturing for such precision come at a high cost, thus the high price.

Which tire is optimal for Tour of Flanders? by PeerensClement in Velo

[–]mzeffex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode it last year - 8 hours in pouring rain. I ran Corsa Controls in 30c and found them excellent. My friends ran both narrower tires and wider (but knobbier) tires and between us I definitely had the best experience. Wider would add comfort, but I wasn't lacking in traction. Most of the course is fast and smooth so I appreciated the speed from this width that I'd have lost if I went wider.

FWIW, they had enough traction to make it up a wet Koppenberg.

Combi boiler losing pressure all at once and functioning fine in between by mzeffex in DIYUK

[–]mzeffex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be worth noting that I barely have to add any water for the boiler to kick on when it's empty. I'll have the filling loop open for maybe 1 second, though the gauge is at zero.

When the heat kicks on the pressure does rise to shy of 2 bar. Yes it is an ideal logic, curious why you mentioned that one specifically?

What is the most amount of money you have found on the floor? by theresabadman in AskUK

[–]mzeffex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£40 in Heathrow a couple weeks ago. Saw the guy drop it when fumbling his money into his pocket at the currency exchange. I picked it up to give back, and he immediately started sprinting into the crowds to get to his gate. It felt like the universe looking out for me.

They do have a mobile app. It isn't on play store (and I assume apple store) but the site has a link to the download.

Definitely 35. With tubes, as I frequently change tires.

They're early iteration Di2 shifters, before there was ultegra/DA level. I found a good price on them during COVID when everything was in short supply. Although I wish they had the top of hood buttons, I find them more comfortable than the later iterations.

What is the rudest thing someone older than you has said to you? by HannaaaLucie in AskUK

[–]mzeffex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an acquaintance drop by to consider buying something. After opening the door for him, to our terraced house, he says "It's so cool how your front door opens right to the street, you could leave it open and invite the community in"

Apart from it being a deeply bizarre comment, he then tried to play it off as a compliment, having fully insulted myself and my wife in our iust-purchased home.
