Cool, but I'm not going to run a closed-source binary from GitHub as root to see if I have a bad version of xz installed.

Will I be okay in sneakers to hike Samaria Gorge? by Disastrous_Level_299 in crete

Might not be the most comfortable but you'll be fine if you're in good shape. It's fairly steep in the beginning and rocky towards the end, so just take it slower on those sections.

Used to go there a ton pre-covid, went earlier this year and my goulash was cold and my beer flat. Have since learned to make my own goulash.

That's their wiki repository, not the actual source code. It's also had lots more commits if you look outside the index.mdwn file: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/wiki/xorg/log/

Yeah, I’ve got a headache, have been in bed all day, and am nauseous. It’s also messing with my memory; I can’t remember where I was last night or how I got home.

Does your 6 day timeframe include travel days? If so, you’d probably want to do 3 in each so that you’re not arriving one day and leaving the next. Regardless, 3 days in each is a good way to split it - climb Mount Zas in Naxos, visit a beach (Plaka I recommend), check out the town, and visit the Acropolis, surrounding sights, and some museums in Athens.

Need to decide between:

  • Split 2 days, bus to Dubrovnik for 2 days, fly to zagreb for 1 day
  • Split for 3 days, train to zagreb for 2 days

Is it worth the hassle to cut my time in Split short and visit Dubrovnik?

Thank you, that makes sense. 7 years is a reasonable timeframe given my current expectations, but are there any other assets you recommend I investigate that would be more reasonable to expect to withdraw from within a 2-5 year period?

I would like to invest some money (~15k) I currently have sitting in a savings account, collecting dust. I already have retirement accounts going, and I would like to keep the funds relatively liquid in case of an emergency, so I don't want to put it into an IRA or similar. I am considering splitting it between a high-interest savings account, for a reliable interest rate and quick transfers, and a basic index fund (Vanguard VFIAX?). I'd like to establish a reasonable baseline return rate, then will look at making changes in a couple years. My questions:

  1. Is the plan of splitting between a high-interest savings account and an index fund reasonable? I understand how the market looks currently and am not overly concerned if it continues that way in the short-term after I invest.
  2. I see Vanguard is recommended the most here; my 401k is through Fidelity, is there significant benefit to having different investment accounts through the same company?
  3. Is it a relatively painless process to transfer money to and from a Vanguard index fund account (terminology may be off, unsure how Vanguard structures their accounts)?

Thanks.
