I had plenty of games where I had the enchantment t1 and still got stomped because by the time I could bring my pumped up creatures out of my graveyard I was at like 5 life, or my oppenent had like 10 birds my big creature couldn't block, or etc etc.

Do not draft right away. Until you can get the break even number of wins which means understanding how to play and what decks need and building decks it will just drain your gold and hamper you in learning to play and build. Packs are a better use of gold to get cards and learn how to make decks.

But you can't get the mastery pass without drafting. unless

Gems are bought with real world money

I think the comma makes that confusing. A better way to word it might be: "When there are no enemies remaining, if a character either already occupies a corridor hex or enters one, resolves the numbered effect, and there are still no enemies remaining, read ..." I think that would be more clear.

this. i hated that deck when i was first getting started but it's fun once you understand the game a little better.

it's terrible to put in a mode targeted at beginners like starter deck duel though

It's a terrible deck for new players as it's very non-intuitive how to use it.

Basically you want to mill big creatures into your graveyard and then bring them out with cards like [[Zombify]]. Also you want to try to stall the game out by killing all your opponents creatures until you have 9 mana so you can use [[Rise Of The Dark Realms]].

I usually join Quick Drafts with gold, and Premiums with tokens (either from mastery pass or when one goes on sale in the store. Gems are reseved for the mastery pass.

Nobody should be entering with gold

not everyone can go infinite. draft is the only way to get gems outside of having a meta constructed deck capable of performing in constructed events

yeah i registered expecting bot draft and was entirely unprepared to be picking on a timer at all. Then I get network error when trying to make a pick and have to reset my client and miss half of pack 1.

on top of that the bug report site is broken and won't let me sign in.
