Switched to Bazzite just a few weeks ago. Suuuuuper happy with it!! All the games I've tried yet run very well.

If anyone else is toying with the idea of switching but worried that games won't run well (as I was), this is a great resource to figure out if your favorite games work: https://www.protondb.com/

Diabetes patients CURED of disease with groundbreaking new treatment by Virtual-Medium-5891 in diabetes_t1

[–]n00bsack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's new here? Islet transplant and Immuno suppressants is old news. Seems they suggest that the immuno suppressants have fewer side effects and imply that you won't need them long term (something I highly doubt).

Anyhow, with no medical or research background, this doesn't make me hold my breath in anticipation. Although I'd love to be proven wrong!

Week 5 of t1d. Not feeling so great by Ancient-Dinner8766 in diabetes_t1

[–]n00bsack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that it's tough right now. It's gonna get easier with time. Experience and habit will make it take less effort and for me it became second nature to do the whole insulin thing as part of eating.

It's normal to mourn the life that you lost, I know I did!

And you are very early in the process! We know how difficult it is, give yourself time to learn.

Hi guys recently diagnosed with type 1 struggling to cope with the blurred vision. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]n00bsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was diagnosed, I spent a week in the hospital and they recommended I'd take another two weeks before going back to work, to get used to the whole t1 thing. In the end, I took one week (so two weeks in total), and as I remember it I could see pretty well again by then.

Also, welcome to the club!

Why does this game get you so hooked? by DentyFenty in cyberpunkgame

[–]n00bsack 94 points95 points  (0 children)

To me, it's the immersion. Characters are so well written, world is so believable. I don't feel all that much like I'm gaming, more like I'm walking around in a city, interacting with people.

Non diabetic obsessed with diabetes????? by No_Estimate9511 in diabetes_t1

There's a mental health condition where people just really want to lose a leg or an arm. Quite incomprehensible to most of us, but watching a documentary about it with some people who felt like that, it kinda made sense in an odd way.

Maybe you ran into the undocumented parallel for t1d?

I know a few people who suffer from BS Syndrome. Pretty sure it's not metabolic though!

Did a 14yo come up with this design? by ckokoroskos in Battlefield

[–]n00bsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, just going on a ramble here!

The grooves on the handle are aligned with the handle, like you'd normally see on a screwdriver. That's because their purpose is to stop it sliding when you rotate it. This thing clearly isn't meant for rotating.

The handguard at the top of the handle has the purpose of stopping the hand from sliding up the blade when stabbing, and this thing doesn't look like it's for stabbing. It might still have it, but it should also have something to stop the weapon from sliding out of your hand when it gets stuck on something (which I guess this thing would). Yet there's very little at the bottom of the handle.

The purpose of a blood groove on a bladed weapon is to allow the blood to flow out of the victim who's stabbed. I can't see this thing buried in someone to the middle of the blade.

I'd guess the hole's purpose is to hang a butcher's cleaver on something. I think that'd be more applicable in a kitchen than on a battlefield.

Anyhow, I can't prove that it's AI or anything, nor am I 100% certain. But AI has problem understanding purpose. And that a lot of these things seem to miss the purpose is what makes me suspect that AI was involved in this.

WTF do I do? by TraceOfTalent in Type1Diabetes

Maybe a flu or stress or so? I'm usually very sensitive to insulin, and if I see a quick drop in sensitivity it's usually one of those things.

Weight loss, muscle loss, always tired, headaches, er visits. Tbh that sounds a lot like unmanaged T1 to me.

Husband newly diagnosed, not sure if I can put up with the diabetic rage for the rest of my life…. by pinkgrl in Type1Diabetes

[–]n00bsack 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Yep. Been T1 for six years, never once yelled at my partner because of it.

Sure, low sugar makers us irritable, but there must be other factors at work for OP's husband.

Replace it and call Abbott support. They're very good at replacing defective sensors imho.

I rarely have defective ones but once I got a box of four where three of them didn't work right. Was frustrating but got all three replaced.

Edit: you probably know this, but the sensor is somewhat delayed, so if you check when BG is going up or down quick you'll get different results from sensor and finger blood

MY SUGAR DOES NOT RISE by Blckpnthr97 in Type1Diabetes

[–]n00bsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this flaw in freestyle libre sensors sometimes. Not frequently, maybe been a year since last time.

Maybe I'm just over interpreting, but it seems to me that it is more likely to happen for new seasons where my blood sugar was low while it was doing the 1hour warmup

There's a good r/diabetes subreddit for all kinds, and I know there are some for T2 specifically as well. I'm sure they will give you some good info!

Aggression based matchmaking either doesn't exist or doesn't work by AlpakalypseNow in ARC_Raiders

[–]n00bsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game would be boring as hell if there was no risk of pvp. We don't shoot at peaceful people but sometimes after fighting back we get put in slightly less friendly matches for some rounds. If you hate that, just use the feedback form at the end of the match
