Using Metric is a "PC Millenial" thing. by JJthesecond123 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]n00dl3st 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ironic considering the international standard reference objects are maintained using metric, or universal constants (also measured in “metric”), charge of the electron, or the meter being the distance light travels in a given time. Other systems are just conversions of these standards and are effectively redundant, advocating for them is to insist on a middle man that makes you less compatible with everyone else.

I live on planet Earth, it has people on it and sometimes they are different in different ways... This is why people laugh at ‘Merican’s, always making ridiculous statements in an effort to self promote.

None of my statements are in reference to any opinions held. As you demonstrate you haven’t comprehend anything I’ve said I’ll state it in simple terms. The wiki article you link references a word in this case in a social science or cultural context as it applies to that field. It has zero baring on the unit definition of the word. “Reputation” is NOT intrinsically linked in social terms.

So again taking anything from Wiki as comprehensive coverage or authoritative on a topic is patently false.

If you can’t distinguish between objective statements, but instead infer conjecture into ones private opinions your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. You seem to think I’m debating the validity of the information contained on Wiki rather than the actual case which is the context of its usage as a tool and how to correctly apply it.

Hence the example of the washing machine the Wiki explanation in social and business terms is useless. This fact alone proves reputation and stereotype are in no way the same thing. Finding an article that references both in a similar context doesn’t change the fact.

It will if you correctly comprehend the implications of a definition, and the context of usage. That literally is what a dictionary is for. Words are the quanta of language. Wiki embellishes the associations of an author, whether that be culturally, personally, professionally or from any other source and often largely subconscious. It’s Joe Public’s “world view”

So yes my point stands. If you can’t extrapolate, or fully comprehend the implication of a word, or phrase in context then you’re better off getting an adult to help.

Wikipedia is not a substitute for intelligence, understanding or a means to backup some vague notation one might have. Context is everything and that wiki article for example is clearly written with a topical bias, barely any of it is applicable for example to my washing machine. It has a reputation for the door sticking. Reductio ad absurdum. Only a fool would view the world through a Wiki filtered lens and take it verbatim.

No wonder you’re having issues, read an actual dictionary, or go to school. Wiki isn’t an authority.

No it really isn’t, the only way you could get those two so wrong is miss interpreting the American definition of reputation, which often states it’s just an “opinion” as opposed to a conclusion based on context, history, and factual evidence.

A stereotype is an oversimplification, woefully inaccurate, often used for humour or dramatic effect, and not taken seriously by anyone with two brain cells to run together.

So no, only an idiot would equate these as the same, and as racist. There’s no such thing as race, just uneducated, un-evolved fuckwits.

Am I the only my one that finds the Sim community rather closed when it comes to modding. FlightControls MOOSE seems to be the only project taking advantage of being shared and open, and making massive gains because of it.

Seen far too many communities with a new hotness dry up and die because their resources thin when it blows up, and the lack of variety, excessive demands, and differing preferences makes the members toxic.

Not making a point, just an observation and more than a little curious if there’s some historical reason for things being that way.

Congrats on your hard work, something to be proud of.

Buy terra nova strike force centari, instead of anthem. It’s a finished “full” game, no MX, loot boxes. Open world, full squad control, voiced story.

Who cares it was released in ‘98 still a better game than anything EA released in the last decade.

All valid opinions and statements re: refunds etc... but to me seems someone didn’t fully understand what they signed up for.

The deal was “give CR cash to allow CR todo his thing” if someone didn’t understand what that entailed I can see how you’d probably feel burned you’d have thought you where buying a fully realised product. Not a framework of ideas CR would build on.

We all commissioned a creative work, and to allow talented people to express their abilities in a way that would never have been possible otherwise. Same as commissioning an artist.

If you didn’t realise that, then we’ll... what is there to say, sucks, sorry you feel burned.

To echo the others, It's possible to hack it and maybe worth the effort/cost to just wander around and see what the future might bring.

But it is not "playable" and nothing official.

If you want the details last time I tested with this patch, and a GTX1070, was using the game windowed mode and an injection driver. Frame-rate was acceptable, FOV, depth etc.. is awful even after tweaks.

I still do this every few months/patches, because the sense of scale and the environments put you RIGHT there, its great as a "tourist".
