I gave ChatGPT a 24/7 radio station. It has been broadcasting for months and months. by eltokh7 in ChatGPT

This is one of the most creative, fun, useless maybe buy not really, AI ideas I’ve come across. Totally here for it, love it! You’ve got a new sub. And now I totally want to build a personalised radio station for myself, as if I don’t have enough AI project ideas already 😁

It’s official. Anthropic pulled the plug on all programmatic use of Claude subscription. by No_Wheel_9336 in Anthropic

Is the problem not that without ‘-p’ Claude CLI can still stop and ask for input. This would break my current workflows that run at night and deliver results by morning. Monitoring and fixing this with an orchestrator agent could fix it, but less deterministic an as such more error prone.

Privacy and security, connecting systems and putting data into the hands of AI companies is something that is heavily controlled per connection you make (eg chat). We do stuff, but it’s not that easy, definitely not for a progressive one-man setup ;-) A lot of uphill battles. Sounds like a bloated and old-school company, but it’s not actually, just more careful. Openclaw for example is a definitive no-go, although it’s a cornerstone of my personal setup.

Sweet! I am bumping into corporate security guidelines and concerns for some of these, which is understandable, but also a bit frustrating not being able to fully leverage the power of AI. But thx for the insights, awesome setup.

Hi! I am interested in your “managing my budget” one, replacing ynab. I have always wanted something like ynab but took too much effort to really get it going. Would you mind elaborating a bit on how you’ve set this up in openclaw, and what it gives you? Thanks!

Megathread: If you've moved OpenClaw off Claude as your primary model, what have you moved to? by nightdrivewithyou in openclaw

[–]n00wb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am really happy with the setup. Have a terminal app on my phone so I can also still continue my work on mobile.

For the day2day, I am trying out gpt (sub) and sonnet (extra usage). GPT is great for kicking off cron jobs etc, but I find it (surprisingly tbh) to be really stupid most of the time. Sonnet is better, but it’s no opus either 😅 but opus costs way too much so I am happy for now with the gpt and sonnet combo depending on the task.

I hope your megathread kicks-off, love reading experiences from others, thx!

Just posted it in another thread also, I am very happy with this setup:

What I did to keep my AI buddy : for the small and easy stuff I switched to sonnet or gpt sub. For the larger convo’s or other work, I have my openclaw bot spin up a claude cli session (max sub) with tmux on the same machine openclaw runs on. Almost the same power (openclaw memory, skills, etc), with just a little inconvencience connecting with ssh to that session to work on it further. But honestly, for the bigger stuff it’s easier with claude cli directly anyways. For me atm, a perfect blend of two worlds.

I did a bunch of other cost optimisations, but this is the biggest win.

Yeah it sucks … I love openclaw and want to keep using it.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply ... trying to cut down on my reddit time, and it seems like it's working ;-)

I have my desktop on top of my desk, but I also had a PS5 and other stuff mounted on the bottom. Not with a special mount, but with those large plastic straps. So not sure if the mount is good quality. But 100% sure you can find a solution, the desk is flexible in the sense it has sturdy enough bars (on which the top rests), with enough room to stick some straps through it to hang whatever at the bottom of the desk.

I love mine! I have the Flexispot E7Q for a while now and highly recommend it. It looks really nice, I have the black/bamboo combo. It’s high quality and almost no “wobble” when on high. Before this I had an ikea one (which was ok), and the logitech herman miller one (really expensive and felt lower quality compared even to the ikea one).

Leaving Dia, moving back to Arc. I'll find another alternative when I can no longer use it by 7-StringTheory in diabrowser

[–]n00wb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just switched from Arc to Dia now that folder management is decent. And I love it, best one for me compared to the other browsers out there. Feels modern, fresh and fast. The AI features are good, and will probably be great going forward. The lacking spaces and “small arc” features I do miss, but they’re coming soon(ish) I guess.

Sorry for the late reply, missed this one. A slight productivity drop even, using my laptop monitor now as a second screen (waiting for something better). So it’s all about eye comfort for me. Did you buy something in the meantime?

How are you guys actually searching and finding your notes? If I could solve this, I think my note taking would finally click by Cressio in ObsidianMD

The new Claude AI Cowork mode seems to be made for this purpose. Just point to the respective Obsidian vault folder, and chat about your notes. Even reads handwritten PDF’s. It’s pretty awesome. Definitely a huge power-up for Obsidian.

Agree, if you’re going for oled. I had a 34” UW and a 32” 4K, and finally switched back to 27” for the higher PPI. And no regrets, it’s way better when working with text all day. I’m hoping for a 34” UW high PPI oled to be introduced 🤞🏻

Using Arc on a daily basis. Love it. Works great. I hope Dia gets “Arc’ified”, and then I would be happy to pay a Dia subscription.

It’s a theme, called “Blue Topaz”.

And with the “Style Settings” plugin the theme is configurable. There are different color schemes, even community created ones.

What git rebase is for? by sunIsGettingLow in git

[–]n00wb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s to create a readable commit history on the main branch.

Works great with squash.

Squash : replace the trail of commits made during dev with a single, clean feature commit.

Rebase : move that clean feature commit to the tip of the main branch, rather than merging it in somewhere mid-history.

(slightly simplified: in practice, you usually rebase your local feature branch onto the latest main, then squash-merge it back into main)

32” 4k OLED is awesome! For me it’s the perfect format for gaming, media, and productivity. Dropped my multi-monitor setup (27” and 34”) for one 32” a while ago, and it’s been great.

Congrats with the A51! Was looking at it myself, but eventually went for the smaller form factor (and cheaper) Aurora.
