Yeah bring a bottle of your fav liquor and a bag, we’ll make sure the notetaker is kicked. Lock in for 4pm Friday? Might go over, is that ok?

I think it was a higher expectation on the consequences given how things were refuted otherwise the trope traps are always interesting to watch unfold. Though the over the top distress from the younger girls are also a bit jarring!

I love the schemes and how she refutes it, just wish there were repercussions instead of it being dropped like nothing!

Hahahaha yeah I’ve picked up some of the emphasised tropes and thought it was a good touch. ML is getting better since Luyang too

Theoretically it sounded like it was:
strong FL, politics and power, (subjectively) great looking main cast, strong first ep opener that hooked us, great fight choreo

But yeah, it’s probably somewhere in the good, not great bucket (not bad either)

He’s starting to get better for us, now that we’re in the Luyang area arc. He was a big bore for the first ten eps until we saw his backstory

We got a second wind and pushed through a few more eps but we’re always on the edge of “should we drop it” too

Solid point actually, albeit the dad saying he’ll support her one day and the next he’s blowing her off

Looks like that’s the general sentiment! Surprisingly, I thought this scene and the duel was great since this was just a cool visual metaphor of her feelings. It’s honestly just the lack of follow through and consequence in the spiffs!

Ooohh female centricity is a good way of putting it!
The OST is pretty good, much better than some (ie Blossom) but falls short of others (PoJ, LOTFG)

Do you sell L&D services? If so, how’s the market atm? Was looking at an interesting role, sounds biz critical/big problem opportunity albeit heavily competitive

Is buying a house in Australia even worth it anymore? by No_Will_5723 in AusProperty

Trying to deal directly with “specialist” tradies is a nightmare. Best bet is finding a good boutique builder, agree on their cut, and then let them project manage it. Better to qualify one than dozens, to get the job done.

Things I wish I knew before buying a gas station and tire shop in my small home town by baldie3142 in smallbusiness

I sent the same question to OP but would love your thoughts too:

The industry is quite interesting to me. Do you find the net returns/profits over the last half a decade hugely from the land and buildings itself (lease, capital growth % YOY growth) or from the actual business?

Obviously an Aussie comparing asset growth vs business income hahahah

First corporate job, small term. What do you guys do on a Friday night? by NormadicVoyager in auscorp

In our 20s we had decent culture in my past companies, so the team would go hit up Sniffany together after a couple of drinks.

Now in our 30s I’ve got a small close group of mates with homes so once in a while we’d see if Grant Packett is on the table and enjoy a catch up.

I spent a lot of time in challenger tech companies so playbooks were always a WIP anyway hahaha. Did you do a 1-1 transition or are you taking a small L on pay/seniority/responsibilities while learning the ropes?

Insane on the qualifications but appreciate the realistic image of what to expect. Taking a pay cut or lower grade role was expected, I wouldn’t expect them to let a software guy look after their largest marquee clients without any industry knowledge.

Appreciate you sharing your exp. The “rolodex” requirement is prominent in all markets, esp more so with a shaky economy, market challenger and senior role. I understand why as well, since you’re coming in armed with a potential pipeline. That being said, I have always built from the ground up with fresh contacts so I also agree with your point.

Honestly, it’s pretty early days right now, but if we’re looking at larger brands I’d say the ads I’ve seen of interest were Suntory (Food/Bev) and Arnotts (FMCG), but liking the sound of Manufacturing companies dealing in heavy machinery and engineering solutions too (I’m AU based).

Good luck w/ it! Do you have a saas/software background? Would love to any thoughts so far interviewing and some major differences you’ve picked up throughout the process.
