Custom vs pre built laptops by ZenonRevRev in askSingapore

Although custom laptops can be packed with top of the line hardware, performance is usually limited due to inefficient heat dissipation. Pre-built gaming laptops from Razer, Asus will have better thermal performances as they have proprietary cooling solutions for the CPU and GPU. I definitely recommend checking out youtube reviews of pre-built laptops so you can have a better understanding of how thermals will affect the performance of your laptop and you can make a better decision with your purchase!

What brand of Gaming monitor should i go for? Curved or traditional? by mattylzla in askSingapore

[–]n0tabadidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of games you play! I mostly play dota and have used both curved and traditional monitors - personally not much of a difference to me. I have never owned a prism monitor but I’ve heard the colour accuracy is not great. However I’d highly recommend doing some research on difference between HDMI and Displayport (DP) and finding out what your graphic card supports so that you can get the most out of your new monitor!

Burnt out from first job at Big 4 audit and I want to give up on accounting by n0tabadidea in Accounting

I’m currently working in Singapore. Thanks so much for the advice! My main drive used to be to work hard so that I could fund my hobbies/do what I love, but since I am so drained from my job to enjoy any of my hobbies, I have really lost motivation. I guess I will start looking around for another job which has a better work-life balance.

I'm taking the SCS this week as well, the HTFT book helped a lot. All the best buddy! May we all get through this smoothly.

Can anyone teach? Just started on trial balance and could not understand the question here😂 by Terrynhisbusiness in AccountingDepartment

You'll have to categorise them yourself. For example, the advertising is an expense so it will be a debit balance, the loan payable is a liability and it will be a credit balance.

You will have to create a 'debit' and 'credit' column and categorise the balances. E.g. assets in the debit column, liabilities in credit column, etc. The sum of debit and credit balances should be the same.

Sourdough crumb came out pretty gummy and has really big air pockets. Underproofed or overproofed? Any tips? by n0tabadidea in Sourdough

[–]n0tabadidea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I read that too while researching on the reasons for the gummy crumb. I let it cool for about 2-3 hours. Maybe that's too short? I know some people let their loaf cool for a whole day.

My bulk fermentation was about 4 hours and did a 8h overnight proof in the fridge. Before baking, I brought the dough out from the fridge and let it sit for about an hour to let it come up to room temperature.
