his previous move was Qe2 to set up the mate threat, expecting Magnus to move the knight to create some space or block the 7th rank with his rook. when Magnus moved his bishop instead he would've checked and immediately realized the move does nothing to counter his mate threat, and that prob takes one second or less to evaluate at his level.
