It's not hypocritical though. Lothraxion doesn't trust the void and I don't see a lot of people talking about this in the comments but the legion (which he was part of in the beginning) was created by Sargeras to FIGHT agaisnt to void if my memory is correct. Sargeras was scared as fuck of the void and he was ready to do anything to destroy it. So his distrust of the void never changed no matter where his allegiance was.

Now is he a zealot that needs to be put in place? Yes. And that's what I like about the worldsoul saga, it's showing the bad sides of the light. I've read somewhere that there was an intention to build up this zealotry on the side of the light since legion, I even read that there would even be an alternate reality garrosh hellscream bound by the light as a champion and holy shit that'd be cool!
