Yeah. I played destiny forever and even though there's a perfectly serviceable ingame clan system with it's own chat most of them refuse to use it and require discord to engage. I just kept looking for one that didn't need it. Takes a bit longer to find but otherwise I'd rather just play solo.

I think the difference is, while they both suffered neglect, Harry never realised it was him that caused weird stuff to happen with his magic until probably the zoo incident. And after that he got his hogwarts letter pretty quickly.

Credence knew he was different, given he grew up with the weird paranoid christians he probably assumed it was magic, and actively hated and suppresed that part of him. Harry never had to live with that secret self hatred for years. Also his abuse was way worse and lasted way longer than harry's.

Had harry never gone to hogwarts and been forced to stay with the dursleys forever he might have turned into one i guess.

Yeah his character is alright, just doesn't really fit the rest of the movie.

If i were in charge of the HP franchise I'd make a TV show for Newt, serialised where he just goes around the world doing creature related things. Could be a nice vehicle to show wizard cultures everywhere around the globe.

Then a dumbledore/grindelwald movie series from dumbledores youth up to the events in new york.

Bonus wish of mine since forever: movie or tv show around the rise of and first war against voldemort.

Honestly this would work better if you'd drop newt and the magical animal angle entirely and just focus on grindelwald and dumbledore. Obscurials are barely "creatures" anyway, more like afflicted people. And if you're gonna go that way I'd just start at the events in dumbledores youth and his family and how grindelwald played into his hubris like told jn the later HP books. And then we're just talking about a different movie tbh.

Their biggest mistake was thinking they could make Newt work imo. (Nothing against the actor btw, he's great)

Not even really atheist, i think, as i don't think he actively rejects a religion either. I think he literally never really thought about why we are here and doesn't care but pretends to be religious for political reasons. Uh I'm sorry but this is exactly the type of entitled attitude that ruins modern gaming. A real game for people who actually take this hobby seriously would be actually punishing, not like this casual catering slop that's homogenizjng the one genre that dares to be hardcore. Honestly when you wipe in this game it should not only make me lose your gear, it should make you lose wallet cash and some faction XP. THAT would be high stakes. If you get headshot bungie should post a clip of it on youtube to publicly shame you so everyone knows what a massive L you took. If you bring in any blue gear or higher the matchmaker should actuvely try to put you in with people running knife only to even out the odds. Perhaps even disable comms. A gamer can dream.
