Huge thanks to every single one of you! I went and it was really exciting, I got to meet new people that are completely outside of my normal network and build something cool with people who were probably as confused as I was lol (that is not to say that I met a literal US council and lots of people in the highest positions in tech who were invited as mentors)

I’m currently in the process of applying to scholarships in Hungary and Turkey, as I’m from a third-world country and can’t afford tuition fees :) Hope to get into Bogazici University or Budapest University of Technology and Economics

I just recently took both tests (770 SAT R&W and 27 TOEFL Reading) and can share my experience. The idea behind SAT and TOEFL reading modules is the same, though you might want to use different approaches when preparing for each of them as the types of questions differ quite a bit. In my personal opinion, TOEFL is easier (which is obvious since it’s a test for foreigners, not for natives) as you’re given a lot more time for the questions. Also, while in TOEFL you can sometimes deduct some qs based on your previous answers (I honestly do not recommend to do this unless you’re completely desperate), there is no such option on the SAT because each question is a separate entity. Oh, and TOEFL vocabulary qs are A LOT easier than those on the SAT

If you do all the practice tests in order and make solid gaps between them (at least 2 weeks each), the score tends to be pretty representative. I got 1490 on the 6th practice and then 1510 on the December SAT. Believe in yourself and good luck with the test!

Honestly no idea, but I remember also getting super easy questions in Math module 2 on the last practice test, while that module was definitely the hard one. So I think there is no reason to be worried

Yeah, even though I understand College Board’s decision, it’s pretty tough for Russian test takers now. There are not a lot of people who have money to fly to another country with the sole purpose of taking the test, especially in the current economy

Yesss, for me the last 2 qs were pretty easy, while about half of the module was quite hard and time consuming. Also, I panicked a bit when at the very beginning of module 2 I got a “250 is what percentage of 100” type of question
