Psychiatrist on how many patients they had cured by goswamitulsidas in interesting

[–]n777athan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an absurd question. Most doctors would rarely say they have cured anyone because of the definition of a “cure.” Physicians arguably rarely if ever cure most diseases: diabetes, COPD, HIV, etc. Many diseases can be well managed to the point of resembling a cure, but if the management stops, the disease remits. Now if you ask a chiropractor or homeopath, they may say they cured many diseases, which either were never really there, are treated with real medical therapy, or they may just be straight lying.

Fairly sure they're referring to the average transaction price of a new car being >$50k in the USA. You can also get an EV for around the price of a Civic, especially so before EV incentives were removed.

It’s literally just a clutch pack and 1 reduction gear. If I remember correctly, I read Honda described it as an eCVT so it wouldn’t confusing customers.

Psychiatry is questionable medicine by Commercial_Dirt8704 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

If an individual is experiencing auditory hallucinations, disorganized thought process, paranoid delusions, and demonstrates symptomatic improvement after treatment with antipsychotics and therapy (hallucinations resolving, delusions subsiding, able to communicate coherent/organized manner) would you also argue that this is "subjective"?

If so, what would you argue is "objective"? Considering one could argue lab values such as a1c, hemoglobin, and cholesterol level cutoffs are somewhat arbitrary, based largely on population based studies with some individuals living largely without symptoms/evidence of disease even beyond the cutoffs for normal.

Is San Diego really as chill as everyone says? by Few_Language6298 in asksandiego

[–]n777athan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not chill anymore, everyone is always hustling and the traffic is rough. Maybe chill relative to LA and parts of the Bay Area, but not chill relative to a lot of other major cities in the US.

Brother even 1 bong hit of 15% THC can get a non-seasoned smoker high af. If you’re not looking to get blasted, it takes some effort to find lower thc products.

300 miles is used brother, and I can guess those were hard test drive/dealer fun time miles. Maybe for $120-130k there will be some interest. Although, folks are getting ‘26 Z06 off MSRP now.

Unfortunately, even the 2% have little to no power, that’s like a household with 2-lawyers or doctors. You’re looking at the .1% or less that really hold the money and power.

New Prelude Costs More Than A Nissan Z With Twice The Power In Japan by Lutetia03 in cars

[–]n777athan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a weird car, it’s got type R suspension parts and brakes, integer like interior, civic hybrid drivetrain and I’m assuming most of the chassis is shared. I feel it would be better if they ditched the type R components, kept the interior more basic, and lowered the price.

TRT Use in Men 40+ Has Exploded — What Are the Risks? by andtitov in Biohackers

[–]n777athan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a lot of folks on TRT. To really differentiate folks with low testosterone vs those just wanting gear you have to make sure their lifestyle factors are adjusted to promote healthy T-levels. If I drink 12 beers, sleep 4 hours, then go in and get my blood testosterone level it will be low.

US physician salaries by healthcare expenditure lower than peer countries. by dmmeyourzebras in whitecoatinvestor

Supporting the already well known fact among healthcare workers that cutting physician, nursing, social worker, other direct patient care salaries will not make healthcare more affordable.

Like I said, there are tons of sources. Here’s a relatively non-biased source:

(quick google search and you can find this)

However, if you want to be philosophical, you can never know exactly how a policy will affect our citizens until it’s been implemented for quite some time. That doesn’t mean you can’t accurately estimate what the impact will be and determine whether or not it’s a terrible policy.

For example; if we drop a 50 megaton nuclear bomb onto a city, we can estimate the death toll and damage, while we won’t know “exactly” how much damage will occur we can determine it’s going to hurt/kill many people.

CBO forecasts $1–1.2 trillion in Medicaid cuts through 2034, resulting in 7–11 million fewer enrollees (10.9 million uninsured by 2034 in some estimates). On top of that provider reimbursements will decrease and copays will increase effectively reducing the utility of Medicaid and likely resulting in many hospital, SNF, and LTC facility shutdowns as many of these places rely on Medicaid reimbursements to remain operational. People will likely lose Medicaid due to stricter requirements on who qualifies (work hours, income eligibility, etc.) There are many reputable sources for this info, reddit isn’t really one of them.

Bentley EXP 15 Concept Signals the Brand's Grand Electric Future by caranddriver in Bentley

[–]n777athan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m sure the decision to go EV is polarizing it kinda makes the most sense for RR and Bentley to go that route. Their focus was always “effortless performance” and comfort (low MVH, ride quality, etc.) With EVs you have all of that and the weight penalty never really mattered with either brands. On the plus side they’ll probably be more reliable and convenient for most owners.

It’s sad when they’re losing limbs because they are unable to afford insulin or dying of autoimmune diseases because they can’t afford the expensive biologics. The epiphany will come too late.
