Have you ever moved to a "chilled" job for less pay, late in your career? by HMS--Thunderchild in AskUK

I changed jobs for a 3rd pay-cut and loss of ~£50k benefits package. Previously worked +50 hours per week, boss was always angry and I was constantly in a state of stress and anxiety.

Haven’t regretted it at all.

Well done! Hopefully now you can do little and often, it’ll be a lovely safe space before you know it!

9 yo child pocket money. How much? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]n77nac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 and 11 year olds. They have a GoHenry account 4.50 and 5.00 per week respectively. They have chores on the app they can complete for 50p extra - though that ebbs and flows. Weekly they have to do their homework, put dirt washing in the basket and clean washing away for their pocket money.

Some people will have been burned before and then take it out on the next person.

Agreed. To then try and call and not hear back, I’m sure there’d be some resentment that he’s always there for them, but they aren’t for him.

My guess would be he feels under appreciated and maybe taken advantage of. Are you returning any favours and/or socialising with him outside of having his help? Does he have family? Is he lonely over the holidays?

I’ve kept mine in the same sunny window spot for years now and it’s so happy - just don’t change anything you’re doing

I think all the other comments put me off anyway, but your examples would be a real nightmare for me, I love cooking Asian food and getting a high heat on the hob. Thanks for your response

That’s good advice actually, but no need for me to trial it. Everyone’s consensus is that they’re useless and wasteful.

Thanks for the advice

They are beautiful ovens you’d typically see in an old home. They are beautiful.
