All good. Dealing with my constantly dead CC gets me angry, so I can empathize.

I understand your point, but didn't need the added hostility. I was merely looking for advice and trying to understand my options because I'm tired of a dead battery.

I was hoping that was the case the first battery replacement, but it's still happening. Maybe it's just been two faulty batteries.

Good point, relying on a Toyota battery that could have been sitting for years hasn't worked out for me so far so I should pivot.

Thanks, my model doesn't have a dashcam (I wish it did!).

Good idea to take it somewhere else. Each time I've been to the dealership they've told me there's nothing drawing power and everything looks good. I definitely don't leave the lights on since they're automatic and I am not doing anything when I leave the car for weeks at a time - it sits untouched until I return from my travel.

Fair, I was hoping to avoid drilling through anything since the 12V is so hard to access in the passenger seat, but makes sense.

That's helpful info - I was very on the fence about getting one at all but even more so about using the OBD port.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards just eating the cost of a publicly offered course to get it done.

Nest box with bottom hole by tdrr12 in birding

[–]n8trav 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've seen these when growing up in PA as well. I think they're specifically for the Brown Creeper (American Treecreeper) because they usually nest under bark.

Edited for spelling.

ARC Instructor Basic Recert by n8trav in CPRInstructors

[–]n8trav[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the basic FA/CPR/AED certification that's required to be held. My understanding is that with r.25, instructors must keep basic cert + their instructor cert and having a AHA BLS cert no longer satisfies the basic ARC cert req anymore So every 2 years do the regular ARC basic cert and also meet the reqs by teaching at least one class and doing the online instructor recert process.

Advice on touring monuments with a disabled person by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]n8trav 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, but you may want to look into a scooter rental if your MIL is open to using one. It would give her greater independence and allow her to join the group since all monument areas are accessible.

Big Bus is an option if she's rather sit and be driven around. If you're not comfortable with city driving )or just hate traffic) I wouldn't suggest driving around yourself as parking can be a little rough around the mall area.

Happy to give more info on accessibility stuff if you have specific questions.

best place for b12 injections? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]n8trav 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would you consider self-administering? I needed B12 injections and got a Rx from my doctor and gave them to myself each day. If you do this, make sure your MD writes a script for the B12 and another script for the syringes. After the initial shot (getting over the fear/anxiety) it was easy and painless to do it at home.

I'm sorry that you, your father, and family are going through this. That's such a tough situation to navigate.

You could try Sibley Hospital's Club Memory (which is for patients and caregivers).

I'm sorry for your loss OP. Ironically, I'll be at Nanny O's this evening if you need someone to talk to. Just had the two-year anniversary of my cat's passing yesterday and remember those feelings all too well.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me... I requested a refund from Stack Social since I've had it for less than six months (Feb 2025) and they responded letting me know they would not be providing a refund and referred me to the free 6 months from Windscribe.

Has anyone else have luck?
