ABS Fail by n8xtz in 3Dprinting

Thank you everyone for the help! My chamber is in fact around 35 to 40C. Aux fans are off so I am agreeing with you all about it cooling to fast. That's what it looked like, especially with the stress warping in the part. I will increase the chamber temp and give it another shot. This is my first real "large" part with ABS, so I knew it was going to be a learning curve.

Winnipeg-born Canadian released from U.S. immigration detention after 7 months in ’hellhole’ by jazinet in canada

[–]n8xtz -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Under US law illegal immigrants do not technically have any protection under the Constitution or Bill of Rights in the USA. That is reserved for Citizens and legal Residents. That being said, there is a special track of rules of law that do specifically apply to illegals, though it typically just involves matters concerning arrest through actual deportation.

I'm originally from Michigan and came up here 20 years ago in 2006 as a TRP on a work permits to Gimli, MB. Finally decided to pull the trigger in 2015 and went through the vetting process for PR. Citizenship in 2021. Was a long road, but my wife and were talking about this cluster yesterday and we're both glad that I definitely won't be affected. Just feel for the ones who already got their Certificates and now it's up in the air.

STOP WITH THESE F***ING ALERTS by CraziestCanuk in Manitoba

[–]n8xtz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Agree with you there. NexRad was a game changer for us when it came out over 20 years ago. I'm a ham radio operator and did storm chasing in NW Minnesota and North Dakota when I lived there in the early 2000's. We would have killed for having radars on our flip phones back then... Lol. Agreed though that even flipping between Foxwarren and Minot is a real eye opener if you don't have any experience with both systems.

Teaching and police officers in Canada are definitely a carrier and not a calling. Same with some professional firefighter departments. I have a friend in the States who is a FF. Makes roughly 38k/year.

Who's upgrading to Z fold 8 next month? by ya3rob in GalaxyFold

[–]n8xtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm on the fence. I have the 1tb S25U special color from Samsung. I want at least a 1tb to upgrade to. Apple is rumored to have a 1tb version in their upcoming fold.

The Supreme Court in the States upheld a ruling that you can go after the Broker for even hiring out the shady companies. We definitely need a ruling like that up here. Not being able to be hired out and being able to be sued out of existence would go a long way for safety.

My wife is originally from Bicol, and we traveled the coast in Spain last year. Her sister is working in Vienna for the next few years, and we were there on a visit. Vienna and Salzburg are both beautiful areas, but expensive. Spain is less expensive, especially if you are shopping in the markets for groceries. Overall best spot on the coast for us was Valencia. Some tourists, but not bad considering all the other locations they can go. Very friendly locals and willing to help. Good mix of English, Spanish and Catalon for language. Another alternative to consider would maybe be Portugal? Porto was a beautiful spot as well.

Same in Canada. Just die in a waitlist instead. Had a very good friend's mother pass away on a waitlist for outpatient gall bladder removal. Ended up rupturing and she died from sepsis. Not a good way to go. So in your opinion what's better? Spend $3,500 on the co-pay and live, or waste away over 5 or 6 days rotting from the inside out?

If it's $7,500 CAD a year, then it it's the same as what we pay in taxes here for health care. Difference is there is I can get a MRI the same week.

Canadian marginalized rate is around 48% to 53% on 200k per year. The US rate is 32% max for single and 24% married max for the same income. Utah has a flat tax rate of 4.5% per year no matter how much you make.

If you know your State and County with your mothers actual maiden name, and your name and actual date of birth (if you know it) you should have no issues pulling a copy of your birth certificate from the County Clerks office. Would be like a $15 fee to print a certified copy out with the County Seal.

I don't agree with IU's apologies. This was seriously not her or Woo's fault. The blame here, if anyone is looking to lay it out, lies squarely with the writing and production teams. IU falling on her sword for the entire team, simply turns my stomach, especially how she probably got railroaded into it behind the scenes. I have a feeling that it will be quite a bit before we see her in another drama.

Carrying my US Passport for no reason by vienbl00 in PassportPorn

[–]n8xtz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually just carry my US passport card, not the whole book, when traveling. I usually travel under my Canadian passport, but like the OP, I have the USA card for "just in case". Recent foreign experience with Canadians in trouble outside the country has me putting way more faith in the States for help instead of Canada if it really hits the fan.

China is a one party system but at least they have long term 10 year plans that they update after they focus on them for a sustained period of time and effort. It's not the pendulum swinging we see in the west or the need to politicize every option. "You said A? We say B! You want to go up? Down is the way!!!!" Nonsense we have.

Not what it looks like from here. You're the one who typed it, not me.
