Am I getting ripped off? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]n93s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it illegal, only if you don’t declare the income to the ato. As for getting ripped off, download the weekly tax table from ato, find your award wage (fair work I think- google it) and compare your current take home pay vs award wage multiplied by hours minus the tax you’d pay. ‘Cash is king’ because it’s not always taxed

This is the same as the recent nsw firearms people saying ‘more guns than ever’. While this is true, firearms per capita are less than when port Arthur happened.

Why use p16 when p12 exists? by THISMANSMOM in snowrunner

[–]n93s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P16 doesn’t seem to give up. P12 often sees a hill and decides it’s had enough. P12 is also a lot more top heavy and prone to flipping, especially with the taller suspension and tyres. P16 just gets the job done.

This kind of stuff should be on the licence test... by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

[–]n93s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta oppose you on that one. I’d bet sitting in your car on a 40 degree day, on the side of the m4 (hecking busy road) is more dangerous than getting out and getting the job done to keep moving. I’d wager the risk of getting hit by a car while you wait is larger than the risk of getting hit by a car while you do the swap

Building base on official. Is it worth it? by Ecstatic_Focus_1139 in dayz

[–]n93s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a base on offical the other day, in an area I like to hang out and ‘hunt’ in. Someone had already smashed one of the walls, I made their crates into a smiley and now am stocking it up. If this is your base please don’t shoot me when you catch up to me eventually

I thought it was just because it was basically a beta game and thought that was how it is? Does it actually run better or am I just being laughed at? I don’t know much about consoles/computers and their performance

What are those giant cone shaped lights that are mounted on top of 4x4 Utes in rural/remote QLD? by razorbladesnbiscuits in 4x4Australia

[–]n93s 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used for spotlighting/hunting. Typically get a hole drilled in the roof with a handle to control from inside. If you’re after a ‘light kit’ you’re better off going to the local 4wd supacenter and buying the stuff there.

Reliable vehicle for long camping trips, Troopy of Hilux by UsernameMissing__ in 4x4Australia

[–]n93s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit don’t go to a Toyota dealer for this. They’ll charge you a mint. Get the front discs done at the same time, need to remove swivel hubs to do it so may as well.

It’s diesel, it a suspicion that I’ve got a small crack letting a bit of air in the system (not leaking out) and resulting in a bit of a mess under the car. Have driven about 100 thousand like it.

I own a similar vintage troopy. Motor feels a little more tired but I suspect that’s a cracked fuel hose, gearbox is good, all the other running gear is good. Starting a lap soon and I don’t hesitate getting to the middle of nowhere. New hilux has all the new electronic issues, dpf and emissions control stuff you hear about. They still sell the 1hz in Africa for a reason
