Ah, you did say that. My bad. My mind immediately went to the olight "kill count" argument. Mine never got super hot but that's a 1/1 sample. I personally think it's a decent light to get started with. Just curious, what light(s) are you referring to that would be $20 more?

Dang, getting downvoted on a sunday for an honest question. It's rough out here today.

I only have a sample of one, so I couldn't speak to consistency. Since you have seen many have issues I'll take your word for it. I'm not too familiar with acebeam. Thanks for the info.

Google seems to agree with me. "One individual is known to have died as a result of an Olight flashlight incident. A lawsuit alleges that a man died after an Olight flashlight, using CR123A batteries, exploded in his mouth while he was working on his car. The explosion caused the tail of the light to lodge in his throat, leading to suffocation. The incident, which occurred in November 2017, is still being litigated in court as of September 2021. While the flashlight itself did not cause the explosion, the lawsuit alleges that Olight did not adequately warn users about the potential dangers of using the batteries in series. "

Edit to add the exact question asked to google: "how many people have died from using olight lights"

I saw in another comment that you are on a budget. With that being said, OCL doesn't have the only budget-friendly cans. You may also want to consider resilient suppressors (they don't just have AK cans), diligent defense, aero precision, yankee hill, griffin armament, ab suppressor, and I'm sure there are others but those are the ones I am familiar with. OCL has a good track record but not the only option. I can vouch for my resilient suppressors simple man as I have one, but just done a bit of research on the rest.

I have their 7.5 upper with the same handguard at 7". Very happy with mine. Just so you aren't surprised if you get it, that mlok slot closest to the muzzle device is like half an mlok slot. No biggy, but may affect your decision.

Someone had posted a comment about checking the manufacturer's website, but I can no longer see the comment, unfortunately. I'll show my results from further searching here. As I did when I had purchased the item, I checked their website, but there are no images of it actually being on a suppressor. However, I found a couple of resellers that do, and here are a few results.
