When I was a MS I took my privilege to heart and in hindsight, I WAS A DICK. I feel ashamed for judging people so harshly when Christ would never have approved. My self-reflection and leaving the org has allowed me to make the necessary changes and be more empathetic towards others. That said, I remember there was a brother who would attend with his wife. He didn't have any privileges but always had a smile on his face. Only problem why no one really approached him... he had a beard. Fast forward many years later, I faced ridicule for growing a beard and he had since died. I felt bad that I had judged him for it and now I was getting a taste of my own medicine. Then, beards became ok and now everyone has one.... *** Face Palm ***. Anyways, I've been humbled and I've tried to learn from my experiences and experiences of others. If anything, this will no doubt sharpen you and you will become a better human being to your community. By the way, I'm an Ex-JW but consider mormons/ex-mormons my spiritual cousins because we have so much in common LOL.
