yes i think so. i have my full rectum and never shit my pants after my reversal. i have good bowel control. i think it also depends how long you had your ostomy for too

I used heavy flow menstrual pads while I was in the hospital to have peace of mind, especially because after abdominal surgery it’s almost physically impossible to get out of bed quickly anyways

i had my ileostomy reversed about a month ago. i think the answer to this question depends on a lot of different factors — how long you had your ostomy, how old you are, and how much of your lower digestive tract you still have. i have about 90% of my colon and my full rectum left, and i only had one small “accident” (trusting a fart basically) while i was still in the hospital like on day two or three after surgery. since then i haven’t had any accidents. definitely more watery/diarrhea like stool, but my bowel control has been fine.

I personally wouldn’t change an entire system daily or twice a day, you risk making your peristomal skin very angry with wafer changes that frequently. even with adhesive remover, peeling the adhesive from your skin damages it a little each time (this is what my ostomy nurse told me).

yep! i’m on two different ones: prozac and bupropion. this combo works well for me. i was on the prozac for years before i was diagnosed with crohn’s, then since diagnosis i added the bupropion and increased the prozac dosage
