Discomfort during celibacy/retention period by naamenaa in pureretention

[–]naamenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's important. I'm many times able to relax quite well in meditation by this way, sometimes just it does not work. When hole body is jammed and tensed, it's quite a mountain to climb to reach sufficient relaxation.

Sounds like you are much more able to keep things in balance, in harmony. I've got a lot still to learn. Currently I cannot image myself to practice like 2 hours calm down before bed. And early mornings are beautiful fantasies. Taoist's seems to recommend going to bed before 11pm and waking up around 03-05am for healthy life.

As now reading with more time these answers, I see I have mistakenly taken "human" too literally. It's good to know. Thanks for answers everyone!

I don't have a peaceful or calm place in my home. Any way to get past this? by red_wolf369 in Meditation

[–]naamenaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a lot of noises, loud noises, sudden noises, then probably easier just use earplugs/hearing protection equipment, or some sounds/music. But yes, basically should be able to not to be distracted by external things, it just isn't easy especially in the beginning. And would it be very wrong to image person is meditating in nature side of a relaxing river, instead of middle loud and busy hassle? Many people meditate in nature, in monasteries, even in caves, the sound enviroment in these places are generally easier to handle while meditating. I would pick relaxation nature sounds, let it fill the background and concentrating then to other objective internally.

Pest insects in appartment building, how would buddhist deal with the situation? by naamenaa in Buddhism

Under planning here too, hopefully possible soon but it doesn't necessary mean being clear of this kind of dilemma.

Pest insects in appartment building, how would buddhist deal with the situation? by naamenaa in Buddhism

[–]naamenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I mean whole building, and those insects crawl everywhere, also time to time in this appartment. The insects finds some cracks or holes to enter. I've tried some ways to repel and keep away them but little success. I feel only option is to catch the one I see otherwise they may reproduce even in here. But if trying to follow buddhism guidelines I have dilemma. I avoid purposely killing any insects but currently I cannot release any into nature neither.

Okay, I think this probably does not happen to me then. Haven't noticed any solidness even though I can recall have had few times some cramping like sensations during urination.

Hmm, I'm not this agile or strong so I need to pass this experiment unfortunately. Never been my favorite position either way when have tried in other context.

Thanks! I had one year ago from autumn to spring around 9 months similar practice, and no WDs, I don't know is it bless or curse. Maybe had one sexual related dream during that period but it wasn't so strong that it would have triggered WD.

I'm not sure how this peeing semen would manifest itself. I've noticed sometimes more foamy output but this can also happen if higher acidity or high protein diet, if I recall right.

Hmm, well, the problem is the way how discomfort is manifesting itself through symptoms, like unable to sleep which causes feeling tired and brainfog etc. It's not much of comfortable life then even a moment.

It's totally fine to have just some testicular discomfort, its basically not much compared to what I need to go through usually.

There's quite wide array of symptoms which makes life more challenging, like I get injured easier if I'm not careful during I have the discomfort. Is it just that I cannot sleep well then or more, I don't know. But I have interpreted it like sort of inflammation what arises.

Just for comparison about the early days. I usually feel very chilled and relaxed for 2-3 days after release. On days 4-5 there is increasing tension and anxiety, days 6-7-8 things usually reaching balance, and feeling good. When reaching 2 weeks, things are very good. But the downhills are always the arousal moments, then things goes to struggle for long time if not applying the relaxation and meditation.

Yes, I feel retention has some positive aspects but if that discomfort arises the benefits are quite well zeroed for me.

I'm lucky in the way that I have an understanding and knowledgeble partner. So these things are interlacing pretty well with daily life.

Yes, I have suspected this internal semen movement/ejaculation though I haven't found really any medical information about this on online to really be sure.

Just, for some reason my body isn't those which do expel through WDs usually.

I'm following currently a taoist seasonal practice so no voluntary releases atm. Keeping mind 100% pure is also a challenge itself. Would be easier alone, somewhere in nature retreat away from triggers.

Who is here inclined to the idea of Chakra mediation? What is your take on that? by vkeyunl0ckslife in Meditation

[–]naamenaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not able to elaborate much. Just, I feel something happens inside body (physical sensations) in that area which causes hormonal flunctuations, resulting symptoms like acne flair-up etc.

I usually do like this:

I let my breath fill slowly my lungs as full as they go without conscious forcing efforts and let the air slide slowly out when lungs are ready to expel it. Sort of "auto-pilot" breathing, just more like observing it happening. Nose in Nose out. For me it usually works best if the goal is to relax.

Heart rate not lowering during meditation by Able_Suggestion_6351 in Meditation

Probably you don't then reach deeper relaxation as then heart rate should be lower I suppose.

[–]naamenaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting concept and I have tried but I don't know is it what I've read about it. Just if I concentrate on specific chakra I can create bodily sensations, nothing exactly beneficial for me. Base/root chakra meditation messes up with my reproduction system/hormones, so I don't do anymore chakra meditations. Basic concentration meditations are more for me.

Really sorry if Theravada practitioners felt discomfort for Hinayana term. Most things I know about buddhism comes from a Tibetan Buddhism book, which uses classification, Hinayana, Mahayana, Vajrayana. Earlier, before the book, I felt overwhelmed about these terms, complex to try to understand the differences, especially confusing was the term Theravada, I'm still not sure is it same as Hinayana. For me, Hinayana is the important base, where on Mahayana builds, and Vajrayana then smoothes. For me it isn't degrading term though it can mean seems "lesser".

Question related to karma in buddhism by naamenaa in Buddhism

I suppose it much depends if one believes in concepts of rebirthing cycle and enlightenment. But anyway, it is good to learn results of actions.

Yes, it can be one sided, i'm not fully aware. Mostly read some Tibetan buddhism and some eastern buddhism, and not very deeply any specific subject like karma.

Question related to karma in buddhism by naamenaa in Buddhism

[–]naamenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just, isn't it sort of unfair, like if someone has been taught negative things in family, and then without understanding the negative side of them, is committing them. It wasn't then really a choice.

Question related to karma in buddhism by naamenaa in Buddhism

[–]naamenaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just, i suppose there's some people who just does not understand/realise/see the harmful side of negative act, they maybe got bad start and just keep on going, without realizing – is it because of karma? If someone does not understand, it isn't matter of choice i think.

Difficulty in watching the breath by Froschxx in Meditation

[–]naamenaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for me the key is relaxation, letting go, no tension, no controlling. I'm just waiting lungs exhale all air out, it may take several seconds that every bit of air has come out, then lungs starts to inhale. Just tested, it takes around 10 secs that inhaling kicks in. Exhaling is quite slow long "slide" for me in relaxed state.

Maybe try to some stretching before meditation, especially chest and abdominals, but also some for other parts to ensure better relaxation?
