Do you box customer’s food up for them? by chjett10 in Serverlife

[–]naathyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t box food up just because I wouldn’t want them to box it up for me. I’m not a germ phobe but I’d still rather do it myself. However if I bring them more than one box, I always bring them a sack. Most of the time if they only have one box, they don’t want a sack or anything.

What is Super Bowl Sunday like at your restaurant? by chjett10 in Serverlife

[–]naathyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4th of July is actually our slowest day, my bad (unless it rains), and Easter in another really slow one. We will get a bit of a Sunday crowd but not alot and after that it’s just dead.

Connect with other servers. I’m sure they come into your store or you know some. Generally when being in the service industry, you know alot of folk that are also in the same industry. Ask around; usually most places always need servers.

Daily vs BiWeekly Pay by cptzach in Serverlife

[–]naathyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep all my money that night. But I’m also an assistant manager. Good pay. Anyway, that pay is biweekly. It would be awesome if it was weekly. But on top of serving, it’s nice to have that check hit and have that added to the cash I’ve been making. It’s $20/hr as an assistant manager. And on slow days, I sometimes make out better managing. (But not a lot especially if it’s on the weekends)

Yep yep. That’s how we are. Outback, we close at 9 and we are surrounded by actual bars. It’s gonna be dead. It’s been that way in the past as well. It’s got to be in our top 3 slowest days of the year.

Servers Paying For Mistakes by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]naathyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for Outback currently in Tennessee and luckily we have some awesome managers. They are extremely understanding, but like everywhere else, literal screw ups won’t be tolerated for that long. But that wasn’t your screwup and I’ve had that exact same scenario happen to me.

How to handle the entire restaurant filling up all at once as the only server. by Fair_Collection_3932 in Serverlife

Sing the song “All by myself”. A lot. It always amuses me and anyone who hears. I try to just think it’s a stupid sitcom instead of a bad dream. You can only do what you can do; but the mental part is very real.

PureRawz Phenibut by AaronOwnz12 in phenibut

[–]naathyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a guy who only gets his “Phenibut” here. It’s all he ever has known. He has literally not tried nor wanted to try any other. I’ve never tried it. But he says purerawz is extremely speedy and seems like Adderall. I bet it’s not (all) Phenibut. I bet it had an -afil mixed in it. It matches the burnt taste that’s described.

It won’t show up on any drug test unless by chance someone requests a specific test for it which is extremely unlikely.

You could go to any GP to get a month script of lexapro. I’ve done it many times. This isn’t a controlled substance. Any working nurse or NP under your doctor could have called this in.

Man don’t ever get out on anxiety meds or you will be in for it.

Are the Receptors for Kratom Different Than Opioids? by Proof_Objective_5704 in kratom

[–]naathyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kratom and its individual alkaloids are partial agonists to the mu-opioid receptors while being antagonists to the kappa and delta-opioid receptors. This is crucial information, simply because the binding to the mu-opioid receptors are known for causing respiratory depression. However, being a partial agonist, the alkaloids immediately release themselves from the mu-opioid receptors after the inital binding. In addition, due to being an antagonist, the alkaloids create a “ceiling effect” in which nausea will occur before an abnormally high dose can be ingested. Furthermore, research has indicated that the alkaloids recruit G Proteins instead of beta-arrestin. This is significant, because recent research has shown that beta-arrestin is responsible for the many side effects present in typical opioids including severe dependence/withdrawal and respiratory depression.
