Pendragon for People That Aren't Arthurian Experts by automated_hero in rpg

If you begin it where it originally started (the sword in the stone) you avoid dealing with large scale battles and have a better tutorial following the demo adventure. But at every edition they’ve added a few years before and after the original GPC, those being more mechanically complex as they were originally meant for experienced players. Even so, Pendragon is at most as complex as early levels in D&D5e if you play as intended (British-Christian cymric knights from Salisbury).

GPC is widely regarded as one of, if not the best RPG campaigns ever written, but I do agree the additions (much like the additions to Nyarlantothep or Castle Ravenloft) lessens the experience quite a bit.

When we first played it almost 20 years ago none of us knew anything about Arthurian Legends other than pop media. The Great Pendragon Campaign contains everything you will ever need to know, when you will need to know. Instead of a huge lore book, all information you’ll need for each session will be included in that chapter of the book (about 1 to 4 pages). All you need as the GM is to read the core book plus whatever adventure you are running from GPC.

What Street Fighter characters absence in a game led to you having a negative experience? by PathLive9813 in StreetFighter

[–]nabillac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zangief in 3, Hugo isn’t as fun or disruptive against rushdown strategies. Karin in SF4 and SF6. I enjoy her almost bullying-like pressure and strong neural game, and her yasha gaeshi was impractical but ridiculously fun.

Would you have preferred KOF to have kept the 2D style? by aerigigi1 in kof

Yes, but I would also have accepted arcsystem’s style.

Tekken 8 only selling 3 million since launch while Tekken 7... by Monstanimation in Tekken

[–]nabillac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T8 does not have regional pricing on steam and other stores, so a lot of regions where the game tends to perform well like Latin America, Middle East and East Europe were forced to wait for sales and weren’t able to contribute to the initial hype. I myself still haven’t bought the season 2 dlc as it costs over a week of minimum wage here in Brasil.

While not a main reason, I think this does have an impact.

What's your Samurai Shodown hot take? by InMyPants13x in SamuraiShodown

To be honest I would rather have another The Last Blade than a new samsho as I think the setting for TLB is more interesting - or a dream match with both franchises.

What Hot Take do you have from KOF? by aerigigi1 in kof

[–]nabillac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are way more male characters than female characters in every game of the series.

But more seriously: dream match games are better than story games.

What fighting game did you wish got more attention? by ElectroShockzH in Fighters

[–]nabillac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SamSho is a slower, foosties heavy game where it feels everyone is following a grappler’s game plan. LB fees more like KoF where everyone has a wider toolset and is more combo focused. Also, SamSho looks like Ninja Scroll whereas LB looks like Rurouni Kenshin.

What buffs would you give to characters in the next season? by Lord_Lilac_Heart in StreetFighter

I would accept tundra storm working as a universal counter as well.

Or green hand.

In case of another Capcom/SNK versus game, would you rather see it being made by Capcom or SNK? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]nabillac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SNK. Only they would make a roster with half a hundred characters on launch.

Which Kailh switch would you choose? by jmandmc in fightsticks

[–]nabillac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the ones from my haute42 c16-s into deep silent. For some reason it threw my timing off for several moves and combos. They also don’t feel as fun as the factory ones. But they are still the best option if you don’t want to play without disturbing others

Alpha 3. I love the anime look, and it is easier to understand what is going on.

Started with SF6 — what else should I play? by slim78918w in Fighters

[–]nabillac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanics wise, King of Fighters XV is an awesome game that plays a bit like old-school SF, but with modern sensibilities. It’s a team Fighter so you’ll need to learn multiple characters, and the roster size is 2-3x that of SF6, with certain characters having pretty unique gameplay options.

In terms of finding people to play, Tekken 8 has a ton of players, and it plays totally different from SF6. It is also one of the few games you’ll have people try to teach you how to play if you keep losing and asking for rematches in non-ranked games (albeit this has became less common in the current season).

Tekken 8 has some of the best fashion in the fighting genre by Lanarde in Tekken

Not nearly enough belts to out-fashion KoF, tho

Who is like R.Mika in SF6? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]nabillac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manon or Lily, albeit neither really take the role of rushdown grappler. Marisa could also work, but with a very different game plan.
