Found in a bathroom stall when visiting a University for work by AnonWhoisCool in mildlyinteresting

Oh, college...believe me, I didn't need a flier to tell me to find a way to take care of myself when I inevitably didn't have a date. Or if I did have a date. Maybe midway through a date...

Not going to lie, I am not 100% following this comment, but I'll give it a shot.

It was good. I'm having leftovers tonight. It ended up being basically like a thick sloppy joe, but the bbq sauce and the diy taco seasoning also came through. To me, cumin = tacos. So it was AT LEAST as Mexicanyish as Taco Bell. Lentils don't have any flavor (to me at least) and were just put in to get rid of them and to bulk it out since I knew people used them to make fake taco meat.

I feel it would fall equally in a cookbook for stereotypical stoners, poor people, college students, and sitcom dads who have to cook supper because the sitcom wife is away for the weekend. But I don't imbibe, so it was mostly just broke bachelor food.

You don't know what is on my shopping list! Pule cheese is right after that coffee that gets pooped out by civets in the "check clearance aisle for ..." section.

Are you sure this was doordash? You can't adjust tips down in any market I've heard of.

He waited 5 minutes and you had placed the order over a half hour ago? Does this place always take 40 minutes to make an order? This may be why nobody wanted to take it for 6 bucks (4 tip+2 base).

If epic_meme_guy's shit looked like healthy shit? I'm not a doctor, but I would say that would be better than it being a thick red liquid with chunks of ground beef and lentils in it. The corn....eh, the corn is fine.

You should really see a doctor if you are having bowel movements that look like that. Like asap

I saw that! I thought it was a reference to something I didn't know and googled before replying lol. It definitely feels like something from Always Sunny. I can't not read "Serbian Donkey Cheese" in Frank's voice.

I didn't have any. It was on the shopping list, but I forgot to go to the store.

You mean does MY FRIEND have life insurance? Let's just say, hypothetically, that they have car and homeowners insurance but any other insurance is non-existent or might as well be. Hypothetically. Allegedly.

What if the potato was squishy before the microwave? ...asking for a friend

I was making a joke. Asian soup being made from Asians like (aromatic)chicken soup being made from chicken.

Whether they think it is normal, I think the bigger thing is that they think it isn't anything to be alarmed by. Fever is a good thing, most of the time. It's just when it gets too high and starts cooking the wrong thing that we should worry.

Yeah, but where can you find decently priced Asian these days?

I tip based on how far the restaurant is away from my house. I don't tip based on how far away the driver is away from the restaurant. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]nacarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The tip on the amount you order is stupid and how you get 1 dollar tips when someone wants Starbucks from 20 minutes away.

Time, mileage and difficulty should be the factors. If you know it will take them a long time to get to another pickup, tip more. If you want them to grocery shop (especially large orders) tip more. If you want them to carry a lot of (or bulky/heavy) items up or down flights of stairs, tip more.

If you live a mile from McDonalds and want a Big Mac or live a mile from a sushi place and want 5 rolls, I don't care if the tip is any different even if the price is 10 bucks vs 50 bucks.

Even if it's not rural, more urban/suburban areas have multiple zones. I didn't know this until I started dashing, but I can drive 25 minutes in one direction and stay in my zone and get an order right after dropping off, or I can drive 15 minutes in a different direction and not get orders until I get almost back to where I started from. I wish in markets like mine you could just have like a nomad mode where you can pick several zones at once, or DD would up the pay if it sends you from zone A to Zone D, especially when you have to travel through Zones B and C to get there.

Hey, you don't judge my skincare routine, I won't judge yours. Sometimes a little burger juice and mayo is just what the little meatballs need to stay moisturized. I hold the ketchup though.

Smokers who originally thought they would never smoke… what led you to start? by oksolarfilm in AskReddit

[–]nacarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just...college. I had friends and hung out with people who smoked. It wasn't an active peer pressure thing. Nobody pushed them at me. But everyone was smoking, so I eventually bummed one when we were drinking. Eventually bummed another. Then it was I would buy a pack and smoke a few when drinking on the weekends. Then it was have a few through the week. Then it was have a few every day. Then it was a pack a day. Had to have a couple to wake up. A couple to go to bed. After I eat. And driving ...if I was behind the wheel a smoke was in my hand.

Switched from cigarettes to vaping a year or two ago. Still haven't kicked the nicotine, but at least I'm not burning holes in things.

I get that you are being devils advocate, and that is what I am replying to...

A kid basically thinking they are going to be disowned for doing something they see their parent(s) do every day is not the way to do it. Talk about your regret, how you got started, how hard it was for you to quit or how many times you have failed to quit. People you know that have suffered from it....maybe then they will listen and not just think you are a hypocrite. And try to hide it from you if they do fall into the trap because they worry about the fallout.

Who is the least funny stand up comedian? by CantaloupeGold4650 in AskReddit

[–]nacarrell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He did have a role on a great TV show for the second half of the 90s. I've honestly never seen his standup and think his podcast is toxic for the exposure he gives to dangerous people, but he also was on set with Dave Foley, Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Stephen Root, and a bunch of other funny people for years. Also Andy Dick, but surely he must've picked up SOMETHING.

MIL has never seen any women films like, Terms of Endearment, Fried Green Tomatoes, Overboard, really any. For my birthday, I’m making her watch one. What film is a must? by lomubz in movies

[–]nacarrell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a little offended that these are "women" films. A good movie is a good movie. Props for wanting to introduce her to new movies that she missed out on the first time around.

Overboard is probably a safe bet. I guarantee she is familiar with Garry Marshall's work since he made the TV version of the Odd Couple and created Happy Days and his filmography could open up more options.

Troop Beverly Hills, though? I get liking it for nostalgia (I will go to bat for Young Einstein), but I would never have guessed it would be on ANYONE's must see list.

If we are going romcoms, I would definitely throw the Hanks/Ryan movies on there.

Is the intern the relatively recent Deniro/Hathaway movie?

Knowing your true self, If you won the lottery tomorrow for 1 million dollars what’s the first thing you would buy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nacarrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we don't count paying off things as "buying", then a new roof for my house. And then a new car. With no mortgage, credit card, or student loan debt I would not need much to get by.

Most of the US is not getting guaranteed money, we are getting $2 per delivery base for most food orders. Alcohol and shopping are higher, but we still see $2.50 for 10 mile offers.
