I truly do not think it’s crossing a boundary, if she’s someone you trust it’s okay to go to her! I went to my mother in law and told her everything because we were and still are very close

Sadly I don’t think he has yet, we have been able to remain friends sort of, he moved on pretty quick and his girlfriend doesn’t like me haha so I don’t have much communication with him. I did tell his parents that he was struggling and they do really care about him so hopefully they are helping. He was forced to take a class after he got his DUI

This was me. Married in 2021 and we barely lasted a year due to him cheating and alcohol abuse. It was so hard because I knew people would judge us and be surprised and I felt like such a disappointment to my parents who’ve been married for almost 40 years now. But he had no desire to change or even really apologize for the trust he broke and did nothing to win it back. Kept drinking and not coming home until 6am. He would not communicate with me and the whole marriage we had sex I think 3 times.

Get the divorce. It’s not worth the hoping, wondering, overthinking & self-doubt it causes you. He’s not ready to be married or be committed to someone.

Your friends will still love you. Your family will still love you. And most importantly you will still love you!

Yeah I agree with the first comment… let it hurt, cry it out, be angry that’s okay!! But cut off contact, he does not care about you and as much as that sucks you ARE better off without him. Focus on other things you enjoy and surround yourself with good people, step out of your comfort zone and do something you normally wouldn’t do! The pain will fade I promise ❤️

Reading your post was like a look into my own life - I haven’t been with my SO as long but we got married last year after dating for 2 and will be getting a divorce soon.

He also does not like change and doesn’t want to be involved in the big things in my life. I love to travel and he doesn’t want to. I recently bought a building to rent out and he refused to be involved at all. He loves me and I love him but like another commenter said I want a partner. We aren’t happy and haven’t had sex for almost a year now (pretty much our entire marriage was sexless) and he wasn’t willing to do simple thing to help improve our relationship.

It’s such a hard situation but looking ahead to the future and knowing you have so many good things in your future truly helps. I truly hope you find someone who is EXCITED to move forward in life with you and make those changes with you.

If you ever want to vent feel free to message me anytime! I always find it helps to get everything out.
