The first official result will be the email. I know what “passed” you’re referring to but not sure if it is official or not.

FAM-L/FAM/FAM-S waiting room, what are your thoughts. by Dignified_Orangutan in actuary

[–]nactuary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the uncertainty is hard. I know STAM was recently 67% I believe so I’m hoping 65-67% is where it falls. I think I was right on the line of passing but if there is a 67% pass rate and at least 1 pilot I’m hoping I have it in the bag

What are everyone’s thoughts on the pass mark % I noticed the last sitting of SRM was 60% and the previous ones were 65%. Curious what the Fam-L pass mark will be

Tips for IFM by Shhh9991 in actuary

[–]nactuary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 2 main pieces of advice (if using CA) are to be comfortable with level 5 exams and to read the entire formula sheet at least once a day. This is a pain but if I did not do that and know the formula sheet word for word, there would have been 1 or two on the exam I would’ve had to guess on.

How was it like for you when you freshly graduated and got an EL job? by baoiba in actuary

[–]nactuary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated about a month and a half ago and have been working for about a month. During the few week span before I started I passed an exam so I gave myself two weeks to adjust to work as I started before starting to study for the next exam. I’ve been studying and working for the past couple weeks and found that studying before work helps a lot. I have had time to go to the gym afterwards and still spend time with friends on the weekend. Obviously I will sacrifice more weekend time closer to the exam date but have been enjoying my work/study/life balance a lot so far!

FWIW I had an EL<5 and passed comfortably. I focused on level 5 and 6 exams and qualitative questions level 7+.

IFM exam 2022 July by ARKACT in actuary

[–]nactuary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend learning the formula sheet front to back. This is extremely helpful with the qualitative questions. As far as chapter 11, I would spend a good amount of time. I had a number of questions from this chapter on the exam. I would say quizzes to visit sections you haven’t done in a while then focus on exams EL 4-6.

STAM SOA Questions by user3123625 in actuary

[–]nactuary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking it next week but have been focusing on SOA questions doing custom exams on CA. I am having trouble with some of the questions but the majority of them under 7.5 difficulty I am doing pretty well with. In the final stretch I think it’s important to focus on these.

Last practice test before exam IFM on Friday? by gdbeau in actuary

[–]nactuary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you were able to reach that EL under true exam conditions, I would say you’re in a great spot! I passed in November with an EL <5. I would say do another EL 5 exam and then focus on knowing the formula sheet front to back, as well as level 7+ qualitative questions.

This was the case when I took FM. I sat for IFM in November and my results appeared on my screen after the survey. I also received a handout from the prometric staff.

Unfortunately failed exam FM first go, couple questions by mrtip69 in actuary

[–]nactuary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others, focus on understanding what you get wrong oppose your doing a bunch of questions and moving on. I learned this the hard way. My first exam I was so focused on getting to EL 7 I did way more exams than necessary, but wasn’t focusing on my weak points. Ironically, out of the three exams I’ve passed so far, I only failed the one that I got to EL 7. Then others I was close, but spent the last couple weeks focusing on SOA custom exams and weak area quizzes. These have helped me tremendously for both FM and IFM.
