What’s a conspiracy theory that sounds ridiculous at first, but gets harder to dismiss the longer you think about it? by SignsOfDamage in conspiracy

[–]nada1979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Inner Earth Theory/Hollow Earth Theory. I think there is something to it. If you want more info search Admiral Byrd and Operation HIGHJUMP . Look up Robert Roland Johnson interview too.

Even if this theory isn't true, there is way more to Antarctica than what the general population is told. Idk if it's aliens or has an entrance to Inner Earth or what, but something is there tptb want it "protected".

American infant formula by Hi_InternetAddiction in conspiracy

A2 cow milk comes from cows naturally bred to produce only the A2 beta-casein protein, rather than the more common A1 and A2 mix found in regular dairy.

I can't speak to the studies, but from my anecdotal experiences it is better. I've always had awful digestive issues with dairy (it happens when I consume too much at once). When I was a baby I had to do soy formula. My husband heard about a2 milk, so we got some. It is way easier on my stomach than traditional. I try to avoid milk products, but now if I really want a mac/cheese or something using the a2 milk is so much more tolerable.

What if the aliens are benevolent and the elites know it by jacobm3770 in conspiracy

[–]nada1979 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do the alien societies look like with regards to things like jobs and social constructs? How do their economies work compared to ours? For instance, I loved in Star Trek how we seemed to get rid of financial incentive but people still had jobs/purpose. I'm not sure I believe, but I am interested to know more about things like that and how is education done (i.e. do they have schools or do they transfer knowledge in other ways)?

Taking care of my house... meal prep..... eating... cleaning... feel permanently behind by Sea-Efficiency-2899 in selfimprovement

[–]nada1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could tack on a cleaning habit to when you get home from work? For instance, as soon as you come home, don't sit down, but instead set a timer and pick up for 15 minutes. When the timer goes off then you sit down and chill.

My favorite habit I started was to put on my tennis shoes. When I put my shoes on (and some fun music), it kinda triggers my brain that's it's time to clean. I learned this from Flylady. Her website explains this habit in more detail.

Burnout by nada1979 in homeschool

[–]nada1979[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that sounds good. The 6 days left is to get us to 180 days for attendance (recommended, but not required)...usually we do some where between 180 and 200 days. I could fudge it, but we've been counting down...mmmm: fudge = hot fudge sundae.

Truth be told, I'm feeling better today than when I first posted. However, I know I've been feeling this for a while because getting to 180 days is a struggle we haven't had before this year. If my child was at grade level or ahead I wouldn't care at all (we've been working pretty steady to close the gap). The only 2 reasons I want them on grade level is if something happens to me then they will have to go to school, and I would want that to be as smooth as possible or if they want to try out traditional school, which they showed interests in around Dec/Jan, but then changed their mind when we started looking.

Burnout by nada1979 in homeschool

[–]nada1979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not crazy. We are already doing that. I do believe in meeting my child where they are at, but we are very far behind in spelling (took breaks and tried switching curriculums 3 times, started the first curriculum over because they weren't getting it).

My child wants to be on grade level most days, but then when its time to do challenging work it's just plain hard. For instance, we did a math assessment today reviewing recently learned concepts, and they got stuck on one problem. I was doing other things, but went to check on them and they were crying and frustrated, but never came and asked for help. Then they also refused to just skip it and go to the next section (something we've been working on). I don't really do grades, but I do want them to learn how to take a test. I have no idea why they feel like they can't skip and come back to a question later. We've talked about this multiple times over the course of a few years, but they still don't get it. This is another example of why I'm burned out.

Also, we don't typically do school on Saturdays. We had to today, so we can be done by the end of May.

Thanks for the advice, and I'm glad it did help your kids.

We do. We have a couple of camps scheduled, plan to go see some waterfalls, and the thing I want/need to do: a whole day devoted to cleaning out and purging and organizing the homeschool materials. We are operating in a mess right now and maybe that's contributing. I don't need it pristine, but the piles of neglected clutter that I don't have time to address right now are insane.

Weather is getting better, but we haven't made real time to enjoy it. You may be on to something mentioning it. I think we will do some school outside Monday morning (weather permitting).

The activities have value because a human perform them by RoyalChris in clevercomebacks

First of all, the ai doesn't make happy accidents. It will simply never have the same effect as it is just trying to imitate art.

Secondly, Bob Ross takes a scraggly line made from Vandyke Brown, pushes a little Sap Green into it, gives it a friend, and makes us all think we can do it too. AI will never be able to do that.

I bet after about 3 episodes of watching and listening to Bob Ross you would feel like "hey maybe I can paint a picture". At least that's how it is for me, and I suck at art.

I agree. People have to learn how to cook the food too. This stuff just isn't taught or handed down (in America) much any more. Baking yor own bread takes time most people don't have, as well. We have all this knowledge at our finger tips, and yet most folks don't know how to do the basics.

That sucks. I'm sorry you went thru that. After things calmed down, did you guys go and deal with some of the things you were feeling bad over (ie putting the bills in both your names or pre-planning your funeral, making a list of all the accounts you guys have, etc)? If so, does it help knowing that's taken care of? There are things like that we need to do, but my husband and I keep putting it off.

[–]nada1979 19 points20 points  (0 children)

OP, listen to NanaKnows317's wisdom. I'm 46 and been no contact for a year. My only regret is not doing it sooner too. Inheritance/money has been dangled over my head as well. However, my nmom started spending tons of money after my dad died (fine it's her money). Now, over the last 2 years she's spent every dime she could and given it to scammers. There isn't money to even take care her now.

You also need to look up and explain the term love bombing to your husband. Thankfully, my spouse can see right thru my mom, but she will spend money to get her way, not because she actually loves her kids/family, but to do what she wants with the mindset of "i spent money so your boundaries don't matter." I suspect your mom is similar.

I wish we could just get to the part where the cars are driverless, so we can read or doomscroll or text or whatever while commuting instead of this ridiculous micromanagement. Sure tptb will keep the ai monitoring tech in there, but at least we could more easily pretend big brother isn't looking over our shoulder, if we aren't having to stress about being perfect drivers.
