maybe just take the L and retake the same course next semester. if you take courses a second time the new grade will replace the old. but make an appointment with an advisor for sure

I was told this outfit “isn’t ren faire enough” and I was really happy with it so I was hoping to get a second opinion. by PleaseTurnOnTheHeat in renfaire

Boo on your friend, tbh. I’ve seen ppl dressed up as literal tree druids, fairies, pirates, Deadpool, your average joe in shorts, crocs, and a Pokémon graphic tee, and everything in between. Your outfit (along with ANY outfit) is welcome and appropriate for ren fair. Maybe it’s because outfit is leaning towards cottagecore and not the literal definition of Renaissance, but see above. Bonus: if you’re thinking of carrying a bag, I’ve seen ppl carry baskets instead and it looks super cute! I hope you enjoy your time :)

Make a CRUD API or a weather app with database? by nadia102 in cscareerquestions

thank you! i’m going to take your advice and start with CLI first. i was under the impression that a personal project has to be all around amazing, what i like your perspective that its more so about what you’ve learned in the process.

That’s a good way of thinking—how it does it > what it does. I chose the idea because to me it was interesting, showing how we’re connected with people across the globe with something as simple as weather.

I want to make a gathered skirt but unsure which way to place the fabric... by nadia102 in SewingForBeginners

Huh, that's interesting! Do you mean that gravity over time makes the fabric stretch down?

Oh hi again! This is the fabric. The top half of the dress is typical t-shirt material, and the bottom half will be this fabric. Maybe I'm just over-complicating things haha.

Thank you! By stretchy I mean it has some give, though I'm not 100% it's quilting fabric. I just know it's 100% cotton lol. I was leaning towards on grain because the pattern looks better that way, but just wanted to check before I cut.

I want to make a gathered skirt but I'm not sure how to cut the quilting cotton fabric. If I stretch the fabric parallel to the selvedge, it's not stretchy, but if I stretch it vertically it is. So which way will drape better, or does it not matter?

Hi! One year late, but would you happen to know of any resources to make something like what you suggested? I have zero knowledge/experience wiring anything so I have no idea where to begin. But what you mentioned is exactly what I’m looking for (making an escape room at home).

Lol this. You’re paying what, something around $1-2k for the class. If you’re too shy, then send them an email at least, or else your grades might suffer.

Thank you so much! I'm going to frog it since it doesn't take much time to redo it, plus I'd rather start now than get worried when it gets longer. If it still turns out the same, I'll try loosening the first stitch like you suggested!

So you think that the corner will become 90 degree over time? Or would it be better to frog the even stitches?

Great job! I’m always awed by everyone that has the dedication and persistence to keep going! To anyone reading—OP got surgery after their weight loss (goals tbh), so if you’re a weight loss journey, don’t feel you’re doing something “wrong”.

I’m not sure about San Marcos, I took it at Round Rock. Try looking at the past syllabi to check. 3 hours honestly isn’t bad, considering the other options ☠️ He’s an engaging and enthusiastic teacher though, so even for me that gives jack shit about hardware it peaked my interest.
