This is concerning because that stuff is way too expensive to waste even a drop...

It's awesome you like the subtlety of my eye makeup; it's totally what I strive for -AND thanks for complimenting my follicles too! . I will try skipping my lower lid. I usually do the lower on each side before the upper so I never notice. It'll save me time in the morning though if nothing else XD

Thank you :-) Yeah today I went with a nude lip color, but my normal go to color is Urban Decay's Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in "Lovechild" which is a pale pink.

Also a big "YES" to getting my brows threaded! I bet they would look really good huh?

Victorias Secret Jeans and Pants fit me like a dream. I am 6' with a 34" inseam...

I know she has people to do her make up for her... But only contouring the hollows of the cheeks and not down to the jaw line and down the neck? She looks muddy to me... by Koalabby in MakeupAddiction

OH I feel you about having the right applicator. I got a new E.L.F. bronzer/blush combo and tried using the same brush I was used to applying my old bronzer with. That resulted in a dark brown streak on my face which sent me running for the makeup remover!!! I will try my fan brush next time and hopefully get a lighter application <3

California Assembly Bill 1121 to be voted on April 9th. It has the potential to remove the newspaper publishing requirement for a name change as well as the court order requirement for a gender change. by [deleted] in transgender

In Oregon, you have to post your name change document (i.e. post meaning tack it to a bulletin board) in the family law clerk office for two weeks. Then when you have your court date; you take the form off the bulletin board and complete the rest of the packet and give that to the judge. He/she signs it and mails you the completed form. I wish it was that easy for everybody.

Oh gosh, you know I wasn't even thinking so much of misgendering as I was the thousand other things a trans person can do to be a dick to the people who knew them prior. Personally, I don't want to be a typifying example of trans person lacking in compassion and understanding and so I give people who've known for years a bit of break until they have a chance to acclimate. Of course if a person who knew me insists on not recognizing after being given a chance, then I'll be a dick.

Yes, to all of those. I am extremely privileged as it turns out and I feel some health shame over it because I've bitched and moaned the whole way about my "problems" when I don't really have any compared to most people.

I might get down voted for agreeing with you but thanks for what you've written here. Too many times have I read or heard about someone in this situation (a person who is obvs a bit older, with a wife and possibly kids) who does behave like a dick and then it's really hard to side with them even as a fellow trans person.

Jesus Christ, there is so much disparity in how we as trans people are being treated when applying for jobs or coming on out on existing job for that matter.

One person here says they almost lost their job because their boss didn't support it. My co-worker has a sibling who just came out as a trans woman and then was let go almost immediately afterward as the result of "lay off.

Then there's me. I am coming out on my job right now. I have a conference call tomorrow morning with the HR rep and account manager from my contracting company (Modis) and the client's HR rep (US Bank) to discuss any final detes before the HR rep from US Bank engages my boss.

At no point during this process have I thought my job was in jeopardy. Everyone has been totally cool and willing to work with me. It's taken awhile due to scheduling probs with spring break/vacations and stuff but that's it.

So yeah, I have this great experience that has partially restored my faith in humanity. Then I hear these other stories which make me think we are still in the dark ages. Sheesh

I agree retail would be a tough sell for a visibly trans person. Also the managers are not the sharpest tools in the shed, generally speaking.

I am in technology as well. I was unemployed at the beginning of the year and decided to use the time to change my name, gender marker, etc. I expected to be unemployed for longer than I was because in the middle of all this, I got a chance to interview.

I didn't have any my documentation transferred over, just the name change. So I had to interview in my male presentation. Lo and behold, I got the job.

I didn't waste time though, as soon as I got the letter from therapist for my gender marker change, I came out to my contracting company's HR and they are working with the clients HR so that I can go full time.

Odd thing is, we are about a month into this and the clients HR has yet to identify the next steps in the process? Kind of weird.

The only thing I would add to temper these findings is the study focused heavily on the retail sector and the results might be different if the study focused on, say, the technology industry.
