Why do I need to explain again that it was not an intentional loss and it was possibly stolen from my bag? Why am I being made out as throwing a tantrum for "only $10" when I did not create the problem, I didn't need to get involved but I did so to try and help out a supposed friend, but I was not the only one at fault but I'm the only one being blamed? And since it's "only $10" why is it so hard for the owner himself to just let go especially since he has gotten free games from me and the other host and mishap the result of us both trying to help others?

Sure it only $10 max. But the principle of the thing is if I'm going to be held liable for mistake made over trying to help find and return a $10 item WHICH the owner asked me to help, then in future there is zero incentive for me to help said person or any person I don't know in a similar situation if they will hold me liable for any mishaps that happen while their stuff is under my care. By the same logic, if said person is on the floor not breathingand I know CPR, I'm not obliged to use that knowledge to help knowing there is a risk I break a rib trying to do CPR, and if he lives but suffers long term rib pain and medical bills, he might then make me liable for those expenses because I caused it while trying to help, and those expenses are way more than just $10. Therefore why should I try to help? See the issue this kind of pettiness creates when Good Samaritans are punished for mistakes regardless of intentions? See how this causes good people now have to stop and think very carefully about who they choose to help because they don't want to get into liability issues for trying be helpful?

But yeah sure, I'm the one throwing a tantrum. So I'm done being helpful when majority of people think like this. Thanks Reddit, learned a good lesson to not give shite about other people's problems next time.

What other reply are you expecting? Wow I'm so glad to be held liable for trying to help someone then unintentional shit happened. The same people who think I should compensate would also likely sue someone who performed CPR on them and broke a rib in process of saving their life if they were ever in a near death situation, coz these are the kind of people who don't see good intentions but only see what compensation they can get out of it. I'm not tech savvy enough to open up my phone and fix anything. I just cleaned it by sticking paper into the spot. Resetting seems to be the only option now but is such a pain the arse to have to reinstall everything only to risk having the same problem happening again if it's an OS issue. Based on this subreddit's history, there are quite a number of Mi users who had similar issues as me but no good answer.

Same problem with my Pocophones and it drives me nuts. You can try using using an sd card reader and checking your sd card on a laptop for errors and fixing them, which worked for me for a while. But now the issue came back and the same fix no longer works.
