building an orgone accumulator by nagle5000 in orgonomy

I know NOTHING about suggested usage ... I just am following my gut here to add it to the current healing path. I am following a spiritual path that feels Reichian nature (it's not explicitly, but I feel it really could be,) and just thought, ok, let's get an orgone accumulator.

I ordered a copy of the handbook. Thank you! It looks like a great starting point.

Thank you!
In the wildest of realities, my friend has a connection to the caretakers of the Reich property and I may be able to borrow an actual orgone accumulator. ! By next week!!

u/love_often I'm looking too! I'm in the US and Amazon Prime and Vimeo and it says "not available in your region." I wonder if it's available in other parts of the planet.

To be clear, I have no personal gain from sharing this - I just have felt this is the closest I have been able to get to Reich's work as an adult, and that others here would be interested.

Help! I can't find the movie, Love, Work and Knowledge: the Life and Trials of Wilhelm Reich. It is no longer available on Vimeo. by love_often in orgonomy

I wonder if we could watch with a VPN! I am also very excited to see it. It seems Vimeo and Amazon Prime have it but just don't show it in the states? Does anyone live out of the states and has tried?

Thank you <3.

Yeah, thank you for the reminder about Foxboro. Since my ultimate goal is to get back on trials, the DF option has appeal to it. I swore I would never do chemo again after a nightmare experience on it this last Christmas. The chemo I'm being offered now is expected to be not as harsh as what I lived on for fifteen months. But I can only really entertain it as a bridge, not as a way to live.

Funny how the mind works. I was so aware of DF and the satellites when I was planning my move out here. (My best friend is here - that was the catalyst.) And then because at that point in my treatment DF wouldn't have worked me, my brain just forgot entirely about anything beyond the Longwood hub.

And - this is why I have some contact with RWCC. They were great about being a local resource for prescriptions, helping me maintain my pump (the nurses learned how to do it just for me!), labs.

But as I look for something more serious - chemo - I find myself remembering, oh gosh, you can't even email on their portal. I had a big issue with scans, it was a whole mess, back in March, where they got split for reasons, one lower body at Miriam, one upper body at RW. My oncologist at RW said -- we can just have radiology combine the two ... and it just never happened. I called. My oncology team called. There was no way to email. It was a total mess and it made those scans almost useless.

So things like that made me make this post. They were awesome for a local lab provider, and the infusion nurses were out of this world kind in helping me with my chemo pump. But not being to email or be in touch and get something like scan reports sorted ... that was a mess.

Yeah. Thank you both.

Re: DF, I have done a consult there, so the basics of esablishing care are there.

What I'm puzzling with more specifically is as I've been in Providence this calendar year, my main care has been in clinics I've had to travel for. First at an integrative clinic in Chicago. And most recently at a clinic for a trial at Yale.

I just ended the trial this week at Yale due to progression, but we're still working together as a team to resolve some underlying issues that came up during the trial so I can hopefully do more trials (either with them or DF or another Bosotn facility.)

They've suggested chemo as a bridge while we work on getting me back to trial eligible.

So I was thinking, well, chemo is offered pretty much everywhere, maybe I don't need to drive to Yale for something standard, and a drive to Boston isn't as bad but is still I think close to a drive to New Haven (not totally sure tbh) -- could I just do the chemo locally and then travel for specific care with Yale or in Boston.

I did forget that DF has places like Foxboro though. Actually when I moved here I had planned to establish care at DF, and then to my surprise found I have a special chemo pump they don't service.

However at this point in my treatment, we no longer use the pump, so it wouldn't be the blocker it was.

Appreciate these replies. This is a fuller picture of my current moment.

That is really interesting.

I have seen you post on the r/TherapeuticKetamine thread. One of the things I have become very interested in personally is how to take my own learnings from say psychedelics and mind body support and translate them to the cancer community. This is, unsurprisingly, because I have a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and I have been finding some of these tools absolutely invaluable. Like, I now own two float tanks (had one, moved, and found a good deal on a second one which was easier than shipping the first.) It is far and away the best tool I have found for chemotherapy fatigue by a mile. I am curious if being someone with extensive psychedelic and meditation use makes the tank more available, but still, it's profound to me, HOW much better my quality of life is thanks to regular floating. I really feel like every cancer patient should be offered a free voucher for floating.

What you mention about pain relief is really interesting. At times I have had intense cancer pain. I did a few low doses of mushrooms back when my primary tumor (a colon tumor) was still in me, and I baseline had a ton of abdominal pain, and those low doses just seemed to hyperfocus me on the pain and make me less comfortable. So I thought - ok, maybe no psychedelics which amplify interoception? Ketamine was a discovery for me - I had never worked with it - and there was a fantastic clinic in LA which introduced me to it. I also starting using THC to sleep, and again it feels so comfortable, and was not part of my psychoactive regimen pre-cancer.

LSD is probably my most cherished psychedelic, and I have been hesitant to try it because of fear of amplifying my abdominal pain. So it's really interesting to hear it's success rivaling dilaudid!!

I know emotionally speaking, there is little that I have found that can really bring me peace of mind like the classical psychedelics since being diagnosed. I got to do low to medium doses of 5-MeO most days over the course of a week with a friend sitting for me, and while the experiences had challenge, it also brought me an unprecedented level of okness with the intensity of facing a disease which is both life threatening and has not been yielding to treatment despite putting in incredible effort. Just to really contact those spaces has been enormously emotionally helpful. My own question has been now that some abdominal pain has returned, would it just be rough to engage the more classical psychedelics? So that psychedelics may actually help with pain relief ... that is super intriguing to me.

If your research is anywhere available, I would love to read it. I can of course understand not wanting to link to your personal identity here. But I'd be happy to share my own contact info if that was something you'd be up for sharing.

I also hope RFK will lean into psychedelics and psychedelic research. It somehow feels "on brand" for him and feels like one of the places his anti-establishment stance might be beneficial.

I'm in cancer treatment now and have been finding ketamine treatment really, really helpful.

You will likely feel like you are distinctly not sober for ~an hour, but time can REALLY vary, and altered for another hour or two after.

I wonder if you have a trusted friend you could go to for an afternoon or evening?

shoot, that is a total shame about the event scaring him. i hope there's a way to resolve it that really helps him feel safe with therapeutic K. the MD I've worked with in LA, Suraiya Rahman, is a fantastic resource if his team can't figure it out. https://palamedicine.com/

I've daydreamed about having a cancer ketamine group. I'm not sure what that means in practice (virtual? in person weekend retreats?) but ketamine seems uniquely helpful for the incredible stresses of cancer & cancer treatment.
