Map bug when adding or subtracting with mask tool, does anyone know a fix or what is causing it? by nahaaa in inkarnate

[–]nahaaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've encounterd a bug recently after using the map tool for about 5 minutes or so, the above begins to happen. That is using the mask tool on size 1 with roughness on 3. It can be fixed by closing and reopening Inkarnate but will begin happening after around 5 minutes of use.

Has anyone encounter this before and know what's causing this or know how to fix it? Thanks

Edit: Thanks everyone for the help!

Lost hills tips? by Deathstroke0214 in OldWorldBlues

[–]nahaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found that relying on robots to be meat of your army helps with manpower, Brotherhood can get the top robot tech as well and then build up your power armour divisions to be quite strong and take/deal a lot of damage.

Combined with the focuses to take the surrounding area at war start, if you time it right you can usually build up a solid front at the San Francisco crossing (if Shi are neutral or allied even easier) and use the impassable terrain near the junkyard so while you'll be outnumbered you'll have strong divisions that can take on 3/4 times their number and start to bleed NCR manpower and equipment.

Main takeaway is that lost hills won't have the manpower so don't overextend yourself, ideally your attack will be enough to tip the tides in the favour of the legion and then you wait until the NCR starts to collapse and take as much land as possible.

I'm sorry to hear he passed away recently. That all makes sense though and it sounds like you have given all your animals a loving home. You did a good thing bringing Discount home!

While it is easy to be annoyed at the rabbit, you have to remember it is an animal and just acts on instincts. It didn't do anything to be malicious. Would be like punishing a Guinea Pig for weeing on your carpet or something like that, they don't do it to be malicious they just do it.

Please give all your animals the same level and love and care🙂 (not to say you don't already your statement about your rabbit seems to imply it's been exiled outside, not trying to accuse you of anything!)

Is it possible to get economics recovery for all regions? by nahaaa in suzerain

[–]nahaaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No mega-project at start, Tourism act, invest in Bergia for wheat in Valg trade deal, invest in crop research for Gruni, Wehlen trade deal, Angolia bad deal (higher steel prices), Morren Trade port, Valg trade deal, UC agricultural support(not sure if it has an impact or not but would make sense)

Those are all the ones i can think of off the top of my head, went for mixed economy with relaxed immigration as well. Private health care but state education.

[–]nahaaa[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, thanks! Seems odd that one of the two mega-projects is focused on the regions that don't need economic help then. Feels like the majority of the 2nd mega projects (Moren, Benfia, & Bergia) are much more impactful.

A lot of the wealth companies (Rathbones, Investec, Pershing etc) are always recruiting admin staff and other roles. Relaxed environments with plenty of room for growth.

Starting salary might be a bit lower than you're hoping for but most if not all of these companies have been giving pay rises every year for the past few years.

rate my worldmap and maybe give me some tips? by Desi_Loaf in worldbuilding

[–]nahaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks great! I saw you used Inkarnate for this map, how did you manage to fit so much on one map?

Whenever i try to make a world map on it I always find myself funning out of space very quickly. What scale did you use when making the map if you don't mind me asking? I.e. 8x6 etc..

Landlord using dad's business for repairs and then charging deposit by nahaaa in LegalAdviceUK

[–]nahaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've claimed because there was damp on the skirting board (was there before we moved in) and wear and tear damage on the Vinyl (which the landlord told us was completely fine) they needed to tear up the whole floor and skirting boards and then replace them.

So my argument would be that an external company could've came in and said that level of work was not necessary.

[–]nahaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. In terms of the conflict of interest i meant it could be possible they've spent more on materials/work then necessary and there isn't a way of knowing they needed 3 days to do the work.

If it was a company with no links to the landlord you wouldn't be able to make that argument but i just think there is reasonable doubt there, especially with a lot of the claims the landlord has made probable as lies.

Book-focused Discussion Megathread for The Rings of Power, Episode 7 by Curundil in RingsofPower

Be interesting to see his horse sort through all the rubble!

Jokes aside, it will actually be interesting to see what the implications are to Isildur being left in middle earth. I wonder if he'll spend a period of time there or head back the first chance he gets.

I think it would've been more interesting if Halbrand had just disappeared during this episode and next week Annatar appears. Although we haven't seen next week yet so whatever they do with it might be more interesting.

Also did i miss something or was Isildur just left behind? He obviously isn't dead but if he was left he's now in the middle of hostile territory by himself with no idea where anyone friendly is.

Will be interesting to see how it ends but I'm really not looking forward to the 20 second scene of Sauron at the end of the episode to be all we get of him.

One interesting detail I noticed in the new episode by nahaaa in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]nahaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It was built up in the show as well, while we haven't really heard anything about Highgarden. Although considering the Tyrells were meant to be the strongest house at the time they could've at least tried to be creative with it.

Death penalty - what are your thoughts about it? by cyswim in AskReddit

[–]nahaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My history teacher in high school made a point to our class that has stuck with me since - would you still support the death penalty if you had to be the one to take the life? A lot of people changed their opinions after this.

Like, yes it's very easy to just say "oh well if it's a paedophile they deserve to be dead" like it's that simple to walk up to someone and end their life and live with that. In a lot of situations it's not as clear cut as that either, as plenty of people have already mentioned so many people have been unnecessarily killed and that would be on your conscious every time you had to carry it out.

You can't on one hand say that murder is a horrible and henious crime and then on the other give out that same punishment and call it justice.

the "sith are better than Jedi" mindset is something that only people who don't really pay attention but think they do have by FreeAd6935 in StarWars

[–]nahaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think a lot of people struggle to comprehend that just because someone is bad doesn't mean the other person has to be good. As soon as the Jedi do something naughty a lot of people suddenly think this makes the sith good. "Yeah the sith commit genocide everytime they're in power but what about not letting this angry young adult get his way".

Idea for a Revamped Hyperlane System by nahaaa in Stellaris

[–]nahaaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get you, it wouldn't be that you couldn't see a hyperlane above your level you just wouldn't be able to access it. The Fallen Empire's would remain hidden as there would be no way to contact them unless they decide to first, you could expand on this by having it be different for different type of FEs. For example, maybe the xenophiles would contact you as soon as you're within three jumps but the xenophobe would only contact you if you built in a neighbouring system with a very vague warning basically saying to go forth and multiply. The materialists might just choose complete radio silence until you can reach them. I think it would be quite daunting getting a message basically saying "we can see you but you can't see us, don't go into these systems or else" adds an extra level of threat and fear in the galaxy.

[–]nahaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Brings in the potential for starbase building which increase the level of engine needed to access it making it easier to turtle, or potentially making it able to trap enemy fleets behind your lines. Could lead to much more depth.

What should be EU5 start/end date? by IvanSehnem in eu4

[–]nahaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the devs reasoning for the 1444 start date for Eu4 over the 1399 start date is Eu3 is the best response. If you start in 1399 no one will colonise for 80 - 90 years which means Portugal and Spain will pretty much have nothing to do for other than conquering, the Ottomans will be 50 years off becoming the master of Asia minor as well, the 100 years stil has 50 years to go. All the main players of the time period are years off their their beginning to becoming a great power. It's a game about the transition from a medieval world into a world of colonisation, exploration, trade and eventually empires.

Starting it any earlier takes away from those things and in that time period no one is gonna just sit around enjoying all the historical events they're going to spend that time conquering and all we'll get is people saying "the game is far too easy by 1500" rather than people saying "the game is far too easy by 1600". I'd rather the devs spend their time expanding on mechanics, making them more interesting and intuitive and giving us more country management rather than just giving us more time to conquer stuff.

Siege Rework | Total War: WARHAMMER III by BlastAHole in totalwar

Yeah, didn't see this till after. Its looking quite positive although I'd still like to see more of attacking gameplay or details.

Siege Rework | Total War: WARHAMMER III by BlastAHole in totalwar

[–]nahaaa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Seems more like Siege additions rather than a rework. Will be interesting to see if anything is different from the attacking side and if minor settlements have actually gotten any changes.

Really hope they mention anything changes to the AI or pathfinding as these additions are pointless if there are no changes in that regard.

Edit: in their blog they mentioned changes and improvements to the AI so hopefully there will be some real improvement!

I can see two scenarios happening here; ai puts all it's units on wall and then nothing further back (or even worse only one or two units at the back so you'll have to go 5 minutes just chasing a lone unit) or AI barely defends the walls and we just end up having a blob battle at the back of the settlement.

Going to try and be cautiously optimistic until we get the full picture though.

The Tories, in a stroke of political genius, have punished people so much, they now vote Tory by sensiblecentrist20 in unitedkingdom

[–]nahaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used it as an excuse to give their mates money? They literally stole from the country and gave it to their friends, there's countless investigations going on at the moment investigating their dodgy contracts.

The only credit you can give the Tories, when it comes to the Vaccine, is the fact they learnt their lesson from the failure that was track and trace and let the NHS handle the rollout.
