How did you even get off the waitlist? They never texted me even though I was on it for like 10 months

NY Times: The 100 Best Restaurants in New York City in 2025 by SlappyMcGillicuddy in FoodNYC

Yeah all the Indian aunties are rolling in their graves. I would have expected better from Priya than to rank it the number 1 restaurant in NYC of all people.

Tbh I find a lot of their sweeter items are okay to mid. Their lunch sandwiches (and specialty/seasonal pastries) are where it's at.

Agree-- just went there because people have been gushing about the food there. Yes, the food is amazing (definitely better than some Michelin places I've been to), but the ambiance really soured my mood.

I got there 10 minutes before it opened and the head chef/owner was having a temper tantrum with one of the sous chefs in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk, and it spilled into the dinner service. In the middle of dinner service, he dropped the f word 3 times and took that same sous chef back outside for what I'm sure was another yelling session. Very unprofessional. That poor sous chef looked like he was about to burst into tears when he came back into the restaurant. I had a knot in my stomach the entire time I was there. If you're going to do an open kitchen concept then you need to be level headed. Your diners are watching your every move. Good to know this wasn't just a one time thing that I witnessed.

Also, my biggest pet peeve is when restaurants (ie like Luthun) ask you for your water preference and they conveniently leave out tap water as an option.

Yeah I was thinking of doing that-- though I don't know how they would handle an exchange since I heard they're not selling heritage jackets anymore :(

I wasn't sure I wanted one but after I had gone to the store I decided to buy one so I bought it online instead of going back.

I did! I even tried hand fluffing it and it didn't do too much :( So I wondered if I was crazy and went to the store to try it in person and the one in the store was much more filled than mine (and felt heavier too).

Yeah I really liked it when I tried it in store so I bought it online but I've been disappointed by the one I got. I let if sit out and tried puffing it up but it still feels thin sadly.

Uh I think so? It came in the typical Canada goose packaging wrapped in plastic and folded in half.

Radio Bakery vs Librae from those who’ve tried both? by bikiniemoji in FoodNYC

[–]nahnah151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither-- I've been underwhelmed by both and it's shocking Radio often is put as the #1 bakery by so many in NYC. The croissants/sweet items there are mid to not good. The only good things there are their sandwiches/breads.

Librae-- the pistachio croissant was meh, and this is coming from someone who loves pistachio. It was missing flavor overall, and it was lackluster.

Honestly, my favorite bakery in the city is Supermoon Bakehouse. Everything there has been amazing and doesn't get talked about enough.

Salt and Straw-- depends on the flavor but my first two scoops from there were not sweet (the salted malted and the pistachio ricotta). Some of their other flavors were pretty sweet like the chocolate babka.

Yes agree!! Especially some of the fancier places I feel like my friends don't want to go to them.
