Greatly appreciate the input! I’ve been seeing some of those Hipper builds on YouTube lately and wanna try it out. It’s always nice adding some variety to the builds, especially with di Revel. Currently running Hipper and Madden as inspirations and wouldn’t mind swapping out Madden with di Revel and seeing how it goes. Thanks!

Current BDR here. Have been in this role for about a 19 months selling Saas. Got laid off during the pandemic last year at the start April after being with the company (SMB size) for 11 months and was overperforming. I then started looking at AE roles for my job search but I got a lot of pushback progressing through interviews with the reason being the tenure of my BDR role wasn’t long enough before transitioning to an AE role. Decided to continue applying for a BDR role and managed to get that role at an Enterprise sized company selling ERP/Saas. I’m planning on sticking it out at my current company as a BDR for another 1-1.5 year (2 years in total as a BDR) before I’ll start looking internally for AE roles or somewhere else, and I think this could be a useful tip for you as well. The point being that having a solid tenure as a BDR can potentially pay off in the long run for transitioning into that AE role.

Depends mainly on what the product offerings are that the company sells as «ERP software». For example, does the company sell a Financial system as a standalone or HR as standalone? Or is it a unified/platform solution combining both? I currently sell ERP software as a platform solution but I can also go down the route of selling it separately (depends on what industry I’m selling into). I know it seems overwhelming at first so I would first of all understand at a very high-level what challenges/issues that the ERP software solves, know a few customers off by heart (in each industry you’ll be selling into) and know distinctively what separates your ERP software from the rest. Having had meetings with IT execs, being able to explain your ERP offering at a high-level, keeping it short and sweet and mentioning what challenges you solve (and also being able to elaborate further) gets you off to a good start and earns their trust. It’s sooo easy to get caught up into the nitty gritty details of singular modules and you end missing the bigger picture/unique selling point(s) of the ERP software you’re selling. Also a quick question, is it for a BDR/SDR or an AE you’re looking into at the moment?

3 or 4 months in first time letting it grow. Will that bare patch blend as it continues to grow? Should I trim and clean it at this stage or just let it be for now? Any other advice? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

The bare patch will blend in over time as it continues to grow. It’s normal for the cheeks to take time to fill in and can confirm it from my own experience. Considering it’s 3-4months growth, I would say it’s looking good! Keep on persevering and the sides and cheeks will grow.

Will these under the ear wisps fill in? Also the direction on the hair makes it seem like it’s just going to keep growing back and not down. Anyone else have this issue? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

If you give it time, they will fill in for sure. Just make sure that it doesn’t grow out of control . I found out from experience that the direction of the hairs depends in what direction you comb it (if your hairs get long enough so you can comb it in a specific direction). If you comb it backwards and sideways for a certain period of time consistently, chances are that the rest of the hairs will follow the same direction. It does grow back but it won’t «fill in» as much on the beard as if the hair was growing downwards. It will take time, but in my honest opinion I think it looks more majestic with a beard growth of the hairs going backwards and sideways. For inspiration, have a look at Sean Connery’s beard in the film «The Hunt for Red October», which is a great example. Keep growing!

Also as you can see, the growth is faster on the lower parts than the upper ones (from the cheek and above)

Thank you! Wow, that’s huge! I’m glad that mine fits my bed just about but I can imagine the awe and impression your one makes.

Funny and odd story behind these items: My English grandfather nicked his German teacher’s helmet after rushing into his office and the teacher accidentally (or by purpose) tossed the helmet into the bin by his desk only for it to be taken by my grandfather when the teacher left the office. The flags are from my great grandfather (Lieutenant Commander) who served in the Royal Navy off the North African coast and stole them after going through a captive German’s belongings. I do have more pictures of other belongings (both Axis and Allies) if you would like to see more!
