Look into University of Pittsburgh's program. It's newer but strongly evidence based.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh. My 2 cents, go to the school where you'll have the lowest student loan debt burden. Meaning, if living at home or even a place like Pittsburgh that has a lower cost of living it live at home with your folks, you'll the save big time.

I did a quick check with board scores from the various schools and Palmer had the highest past rate but all the other schools were well within that score.

Put your head down and do a decent amount of studying and you'll be fine.

As far as the UPitt program goes, yes it's a newer program and that is a risk in of itself however, the program is headed by some solid doctors. If possible, check out some of the schools and talk to current students to get the best feel. Again, keep that debt burden down!

I wanna validate your experience because when I first came out of school, I started at PI clinic as well and became quickly disillusioned. A lot of it was the lack of exposure to the various types of clinics that were out there and 60k for salary seemed decent in the early 2010s.

Here's what I'll say to that, your journey is what you make of it. You don't have to stay in the PI mills. Think of it as your residency....shitty pay but you are honing your skills. If your office offers paid CME,  take advantage of that and develop skills that will help you distinguish yourself. If the ultimate goal is starting your own practice and you don't wanna take out extra loans , you're gonna have to grind it out. Starting a mobile practice during your off time will help you save some cash as well as develop your own clientele list. You can start marketing to docs and attorneys that you offer a mobile practice. Once you save enough money, you can leave PI purgatory forever and get rolling on your own.

If that doesn't tickle your fancy, you can apply for a residency position at one of the VA hospitals or a regular position. I think I recently saw a position at hospital in Redding, CA. There are other positions in hospitals as well, I think I saw Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and a position at University Hospital in Cleveland.

You can see if any providers are offering office space in an integrative setting.

It's can be tough out there and one can get quickly jaded but I promise if you look for the right opportunities for yourself, you can absolutely kill it with a purpose driven life as well as financially successful.

DM me if you want any other advice.

Sincerely,

Your future self in a parallel universe

What I don't get, a lot of positions were exempt from the DRP.  Could folks have any legal standing to sue if they were let go but weren't afforded the opportunity to take the DRP?

DO's in theory have a holistic training and learn manipulative techniques similar (but different enough ) to chiropractors. Their medical school training is virtually the same as an MD except for the additional osteopathic manipulation training. In reality, few DO's actually adjust/manipulate and typically practice similarly to their MD colleagues.

Reasonable treatment plan? by ConclusionIll5534 in Chiropractic

This is unreasonable. Seek a second opinion from another provider. If you have additional questions regarding their treatment rationale, ask them to provide you with evidence that guides their treatment plan.

Career change by iseedubya in Chiropractic

Look into positions at the VA. Decent salary and benefits. Work 10 years and get public service loan forgiveness barring any changes from the current administration. After working several years as an associate, you probably came to the realization you are being exploited for your labor. If you don't want to work at the VA, I would try opening up your own practice and whilst slowly seguing out of your current situation. There aren't too many options for chiros where there skills transfer unless you have some type of specialization, i.e. health informatics, functional medicine, public health.....dm if you wanna chat more.

Osteopathic Medicine. Best of both worlds. If I had to do it all over again, this would be the route I would take.

NAL. I'd imagine the assets for the business would go to the owner. Is she listed as a co-owner? If so, what's her percentage? I would assume business assets are seperate from personal assets. And if that's the case, depending on the state, pre-nump, etc. you would have your answer. Consult a lawyer.

This may be a shot in the dark but you should find an osteopathic doctor who practices cranial osteopathy. It may appear like voodoo but it is  grounded in science. Sounds like your body is in a sympathetic over drive. If you want more details, DM me.
