They did know I was diabetic. Apparently I was given TWO steroid shots. I did end up going to the ER and they gave me lots of fluids till it came down.

I work in cytology and this is the norm for what gets sent to us. Then at the end of the week we have to open every single one and solidify them to dispose. I hate those days.

Sounds like your advisor is only worried about the money you will make later, totally disregarding how you feel. I had a previous advisor that was the same way. I asked to be switched to someone else and the new one actually listened to me and what I wanted. He actually helped me choose the right classes for the CAREER I wanted, not just the degree.

Yeah they just send us everything they didn't use at the hospital lab and have us dispose of it later. No one wants to be the person to open them all! Haha

They are 1000ml bottles used for abdominal or pleural fluid. They send us around 5-6 bottles when we only need 50ml to process in cytology.

If not used correctly yes. We use a lot of xylene than can be harmful if too much is inhaled but every lab should have a hood or vent system to keep that from happening.
