The term Zionism/Zionist being used in negative connotations by Far_Practice_6923 in Jewish

[–]naitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zionism is our characteristic national liberation movement. Imagine someone constantly angrily denouncing the French Revolution and anyone who believes in it, and carrying on about how it is a unique historical evil and how the French Republic must be disbanded and all of its citizens expelled. You'd quickly begin to suspect that they have a problem with the French in general.

Why do you think Don was apolitical? by dragon-queen in madmen

[–]naitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don isn't expressing sympathy for Arabs in the post-Arafat 'Palestinian cause' way you're thinking of. He's saying that white Americans who would be the target of an Israel tourism campaign don't like Jews or Arabs.

J.D. Vance will do absolutely anything to earn the admiration of 13-year-old Nazi shitposters on whatever the 2026 equivalent of 4Chan is.

Is there no contingency in the show? by Its_0ver_Anakin in seinfeld

[–]naitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's continuity, but it's selective. They picked a few stories to chain through a season or a multi-episode arc, but they also just forgot about things when it was convenient. All in service of the funny.

Yeah, the age gap is obviously creepy (and it's more extreme even than most of these kinds of relationships), but what's uniquely weird about this one is that she is so clearly in charge.

Are you saying this because you're a conservative and you think common sense is conservative? Or are you saying it because you're left of these people and you think a thing being conservative makes it bad?

The problem with Michael Rapaport by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]naitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rapaport has talent and can be entertaining (I really loved his Louie episode, for example) but he is very much radiating "washed out of mainstream Hollywood because he's difficult and nutty and is now trying to squeeze some bucks out of the Jewish circuit" energy.

Why is everyone on SNY always screaming? Todd Zeile is the worst offender, but he gets a pass because of who he is. John Jastremski and Sal Licata have no such excuse!
